Airport (TQO) 9.2/10 Wonderful! (366 reviews) What a great hotel! 20 min walk to the main action in Tulum. The jungle suite was spacious, and the private dip pool was hard to beat. The service and staff are great. I’d stay again. I’d otherwise give 5 stars, but the staff gives mixed messages about how the Expedia credit works. It lead to the on site (but unaffiliated!) Fara Fara restaurant staff lying to us and telling us that they were included in the credit multiple time up until the moment the bill came. I needlessly spent money at that restaurant, starting my vacation off on a bad note. The hotel could be better about explaining what qualifies for the credit AND ensuring that unaffiliated restaurants do not lie to guests to scam them out of money. The hotel will not refund you for this, only keep open the existing unused credit for their affiliated services. (1,001 reviews) First day, upon arrival around 5pm the room we were given was not ready, the bed sheets were still stripped off the bed and it hadn't been cleaned. So we had to go back to the front desk and get another room. We booked an excursion to Xelha via the resort's activity center and was told to bring our own towel. We of course didn't have our own towel as the resort provided this, begged for a towel that we can bring but no luck, only to find out that Xelha provides FREE towel. This is something their activity center or their concierge should know by now as Xelha is one of their major attractions they offer for years! Their ala cart dinner places were also limited, you get to chose from 2 a night aside from the buffet. On a plus side, their buffer or restaurant staff were always friendly, some went above and beyond. The resort is also close to Playa Carmen 5th ave, 150 Pesos and you're there via taxi. Overall we enjoyed our stay due to the wide, white-sand, beach front really made up for all the little hiccups we experienced and their friendly staff at the restaurants. Would come back just for the beach alone!
