The hotel and staff were great, but the buffet breakfast was way overpriced at 18 pounds per person (24 pounds if you wanted a full breakfast with eggs). In dollars this was about $60 for 2 people (for the buffet). We ate every morning at Pret a Manger which is 2 blocks away.
The hotel restaurant was fine for dinner, but there was also a less expensive restaurant attached to the hotel and using the same kitchen as the hotel, but it was eerily empty every night. The hotel does not promote this "other" restaurant, and it was mysterious. It was open for breakfast, but we were told we could not eat breakfast there -- it was "private." We did eat dinner there and it was fine, except that there was no one else there.
Very strange. There also is an excellent Italian restaurant across the street from the hotel.
The staff are all French, but speak English well. They were helpful when asked but did not volunteer much information. Our room was excellent with 2 chairs and a bay window, although the bed was a double (full) not queen size. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and would use this hotel chain (Grange) again.
Quiet area but not too far from Big Ben and shops so location was good. Clean room which had a king size bed which was unexpected although did book a superior room which wasn't ready on time so I think they had to compromise but I didn't mind due to the room being up to our standards. Really enjoyed our stay.

I read a number of reviews before booking the hotel, and it was about what I expected. The small kitchenette with microwave oven and refrigerator allows you to get your own breakfast (and lunch if desired). Dishes and silverware were provided. There is no stove nor cooking utensils, so cooking a dinner is not doable. But there is a very nice grill/restaurant within the Dolphin House complex. The food is quite good, and the prices reasonable for that area. Also within the complex is a "supermarket" (good selection of groceries), Newstand, coffee shop (good for breakfast and snacks) and "green grocer" (fruits and vegetables). The prices in these stores were quite reasonable for the area. The bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is well appointed, with nice, large towels (no face cloths - bring your own). The refrigerator was an adequate size, and had a freezer area - but no ice trays. Picked one up at the supermarket. We accidentally turned the refrigerator off as the power outlet is above the counter and on a switch. The Pimlico tube station is 2 1/2 to 3 blocks away - an easy walk. We printed our boarding passes in the lobby area.
The hotel staff was very nice and gave me a room at the 2nd floor (initially I was given a ground floor room, with not the greatest view). The room and bathroom need some fresh paint :) Overall though cozy and super to a business/private trip.
Home to some of London's most famous institutions —the Houses of Parliament (Big Ben), Westminster Abbey, and Tate Britain— Westminster is busy by day and quiet by night. Buckingham Palace is located across lovely St. James's Park; Whitehall leads to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, passing 10 Downing Street and the Queen's mounted troops at Horse Guards on the way. The streets around Victoria Station offer hotels to suit all budgets.
