I usually stay at Hotel allegro Chicago whenever i'm in town for a business trip. The rooms and bed and comfy, the floor have all was been quiet. The staff was helpful when I needed assistance. Also the hotel is right next door to the famous Palace Theatre and near shopping, entertainment & restaurants in Downtown Chicago.
I was in Chicago for a conference at the Hilton next door so chose the Essex for it's location and cheaper price. It did not disappoint. Location was good, near Harrison metro train station. Room was big. Fan in bathroom didn't work but it wasn't that big a deal. Hotel staff were nice and friendly. Swimming pool and sauna were good. Sad to see there is a planning application to knock the hotel down and build a huge apartment block instead.
Rooms were very old. Our room didn't have a heater only window unit ac unit which blew in cold air in 30 degree weather. Very very old rooms including shower which water barely came on. Staff was top notch.
The Parking fee and no breakfast were a bit much too. Can't beat the location but if your wanting a modern or even this century room look elsewhere as I believe the last time it was remodeled was probably last century!
The Hotel Monaco is a beautiful boutique hotel in a perfect location!!! Easy access from the train to save on driving in the city (and paying for parking)! Friendly staff, comfortable and lovely rooms!!!
Beautiful hotel with unique interior design. Looked nice. Shower was nice. Hardwood floors were nice. Furniture was comfortable. Room service and food great. The L trains are close and a bit noisy for sleeping and the mattress was too soft for my taste.
