Came to chicago for a day trip to Museum of Science and Industry. The stay was short but great, the staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel is close enough to walk for adults but the hotels shuttle droped us off and picked us up, savings extra$$$$, the driver John was nice guy. Great stay for families. The breakfast was simple but helpful and filling the employee Erika was helpful and nice. The room was clean and as quite as as any hotel with that amount of rooms can be.
Would recommend the hotel, didn't quite meet the 3 star expectation due to no pool, spa, room service or breakfast. The gift shop was closed through my entire stay. However the rooms were spacious and a great bathtub. Would have liked some additional brochures in the room advising where dinner could be ordered from. Overall it was a good hotel for a one night stay.
We planned a little trip to Chicago for our son's birthday. We hoped to find something within walking distance of the Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium so we wouldn't have to pay to park and the museum and aquarium. This location was perfect! It was just over a mile walk to both places. It was really cold, so it seemed like a bit of a hike, but I didn't see too many hotels that were closer than ours.
Admittedly, I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so I'm picky about where I stay. I had no reservations about this hotel.Everything was clean.
The staff at the hotel is friendly. Everyone was nice from the concierge to the maids. We live out in the country and have no clue when it comes to city life, but the staff was great at answering questions and giving advice.
Parking was great. It's really convenient to get from the parking garage to the hotel. You don't have to walk far to get to your car.
The rooms are nice and up to date. Everything in the hotel looks nice.
I have to really think hard to find anything negative. My wife said the bed wasn't comfortable and she had a hard time sleeping. I didn't notice, but the bed was very firm.
I will say it was pricey, but that's expected for downtown. We booked the room with parking and internet included and it was around $200 per night. I didn't think that was so outrageous, but it was right at the top of what we wanted to pay. There really isn't a "wow" factor at this hotel, which may bother some.
We will return!
I had been passing over this place every time I visited Chicago because of the reviews and ratings. I decided to go ahead and give it a shot this time and I'm glad I did. It does have a little bit of a motel look to it on the outside but that's where it stops. The woman that checked us in was very nice, as was any other staff member I interacted with during our stay. When I walked into my room the first thought I had was how nice it smelled. The room was spacious with a comfortable chair as well as a desk and nice office chair. Even the bathroom was roomy. We ate at the on-site restaurant twice and the service and food was wonderful. As a bonus they have a shuttle to the University of Chicago and other local places. I will be staying here again!
Most amazing view and location but this run down and unkept condo needs some attention. Broken furniture, outdated electronics, musty smelling cheap towels were some of the problems. Great layout and close to train station.
My stay was great. Facilities were welcoming and comfortable. The Inn Keeper and wife are gracious and charming. They made my stay enjoyable under the difficult circumstances that brought me to Chicago.
