We got a 2 night stay for the weekend with breakfast. hotel is in a good location, just off the Circle line / Barbican stop, so easy access to wider London (just as well as we were at Twickenham and the Olympic Park over the weekend!)
We were a bit worried on check-in as a fellow guest was at the desk complaining the double bed was too small...we needn't have worried! Our room (205) was a great size with a bay window overlooking the garden area in front of the hotel. It was decorated in the 'Mal' quirky style, was really comfortable and provided all you'd need, with a huge King Size bed to boot.
We ate in the hotel on Sunday evening which turned out to be a longer experience than expected as the kitchen ignored (didn't see) our order... I have to say the waitress who dealt with it all did a great job - and the two large Malbecs offered tasted even better for free!! When the food came it was nice, but I'm not convinced it was any better than you'd get for a better price in a decent pub, so I wouldn't necessarily bother again - although equally I wouldn't say 'never again' either.
All the staff we encountered were polite, friendly and professional. The room was well up to standard and we'll happily stay again.
A modern hotel location in Olde London. It is next to Saint Paul's cathedral and a brief walk will take you to the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Staff is very helpful in making your London vacation wonderful!

We were greeted by a smarted suited doorman. Pleasantly welcomed and our bag taken from me. Over to reception desk and very quickly dealt with. Oh and the warm wet face towel welcome was very nice after being on underground travelling etc. We were guided to our room by a very nice young chap who explained a little of the buildings history. He'd done his homework on that one. Into a very nice room with brilliant facilities. I suppose that we become expectant of certain things these days when we book hotels. I wasn't disappointed at all. Had a lot of fun with the glass partition between bedroom and shower. I must've looked funny pressed up against the glass whilst showering. It shocked the wife to my amusement.
I think this was our fourth stay at the Town Hall Hotel, and they continue to impress with their levels of service, attention to detail and overall quality. The check-in staff greeted us like regulars, even though we visit once or twice a year. They were also very accommodating in providing a travel cot, even going the extra mile to provide an upgrade to an executive suite. The concierge as also very helpful, providing numerous recommendations on local restaurants and take-out options, above and beyond the in hotel dining options (which are great). If you're willing to travel a little outside of central London I highly recommend this hotel - it's genuinely 5-star quality at a fraction of the price.

The room was great for 3 friends meeting up for an evening. Location superb and peaceful. The stff were amazing and went out of their way for us to make our stay a good one. The only downside was the ceiling looked damaged maybe due to water above and this ruined the room somewhat. Probably could do with upheaval of carpets and furniture but we had a very comfortable stay and would recommend. Little kitchenette in room was useful.
The lighting in my bathroom and the master light in my bedroom, went off half way through my shower! Would not turn back on.
When I explained to the receptionist her response was "oh I'm sorry" that was it. From a 5* hotel I would have expected a slightly better response.
