"Excellent location, right in the action, a block to 5th ave and tons of restaurants and bars. Only a few rooms in the hotel have been renovated to look like the pictures, mine was not, looked like it was renovated in 1970, but it was clean, no mold, no bugs. Bed was firm but comfortable, smart tv and good A/C. Big issue for me was no mini fridge. Ivan the manager was awesome, very helpful and kind. Come to party or bring earplugs, the nightclub next door gets going around 1130pm and runs until...

Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen - Downtown House & Beach House

"The hotel is nice, really liked the location. Clean rooms, no water pressure issues or anything. What really put this over the top for us was the staff. They were absolutely fantastic. Had a rough day at the airport getting there and they upgraded our room to help make our stay a little better. Pablo at the front helped us with bags and recommendations, and had such an infectiously cheerful demeanor. He was wonderful. Staff at the bar were right on queue along with the desk and Pablo. Fantastic restaurant recommendations and great conversations with all of them. Upon leaving the other concierge let us know our transportation was at the corner and wheeled out our bags a couple of blocks to the airport transfer. I’ve never encountered such a wonderful staff. Would stay here anytime and not think twice. Also El Fagon and Doctorcito were a couple of those restaurants that were recommended and they were incredible and inexpensive."

"My friend and I had a relaxing week long stay at Viva Azteca. The location in Playacar was safe and felt very much like a friendly neighbourhood. We did day trips to Cenote but also enjoyed riding bikes around Playacar and spending time on the beach under the palm trees. The property is well maintained and the areas were laid out well so you had privacy. Thank you "

Playa del Carmen in June scape

"Great hotel for adults only. The hotel is a bit outdated but kept very nice and clean. The matters in the room was worn out and the bed very uncomfortable. The poos are very nice specially the relaxing pool. It was difficult to get reservations and the hotel kept closing one of the restaurants and mixing up our reservations. One night we had to order room service but the food was OK. Chef Benito Miranda was excellent. He accommodated for our diet and made it taste delicious. Carlos Quintal was an excellent host. The entire beach was covered with the sargassum and we were not able to go in the ocean. This is not the fault of the hotels in the area but If you you want to go in the ocean better go to other country or maybe in December January."

Most amazing, enjoyable experience!

"From the moment we arrived we received excellent service. All of the staff including the Amstar, taxis and Xcaret staff that they work with were incredibly attentive and made sure everything they helped us plan was executed perfectly. The kosher food is very delicious. The room was clean and spacious. There are multiple kosher restaurants within walking distance, as well as hundreds of shops. It is a very safe area for walking. The hotel helped us with transportation and tickets to the parks. When we arrived at the park, there was someone there to greet us and walk us through the entrance to receive all necessary wrist bands, helmets, instructions, etc. Our driver was outside waiting for us to take us back after as well. We can’t wait to go again next year!!"

"The property was great and the receptionist was a big help because there was a mix up with our room. So She managed to get us room that would accommodate my family and I. And the icing on the cake was not only was the room really nice but she move to a room with an awesome view. Great time "
