The lobby appears nice, the beach is beautiful, the food & restaurant was good, but that's where it ends. The ROOM was musty and outdated. I would swear that someone pissed in the dishwashers, or the toilet was backing up into it, but for sure everytime we took a shower, the room smelled. We decided not to eat in the room because it was so sickening. Also, I asked them to release my pending $304. We checked out on 4/11 and here it is 4/29, and it still has not been released. I called my credit card company, and they said that the hotel didn't release it, and after 30 days it will release it automatically. I am almost positive that the hotel is doing this out of spite since I wrote a bad review. Stay here at your own peril.

What I liked most about this hotel was the beautiful view that outlooks onto the ocean. The location of the hotel is perfect for people who enjoy to explore shops, restaurants, and excursions. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, the hotel itself needs some updates and remodeling. (In our bathroom we noticed mold) And lastly, our kitchen did not have basic utensils and towels to use. Despite all of this I loved this place.

The place is quiet at night and the room has good air conditioner. soft beds and covers but the pillows are very flat so you need to stack them for better comfort. they replaced towels when asked. the fridge and microwave works fine. the rain shower has great pressure which we really enjoyed. the gym stocks bottled water but some equipment are old and rusty so be careful of that. there's a weird door in the room that leads to another locked door which is kind of scary but nothing happened, just odd. overall we had a pleasant time.

The property needs upgrading, the rooms in general are old the bathrooms are not in best condition, the towels are pretty old, we requested to move to another room because the noise was pretty loud, the Riu has a big party every night, impossible to relax, we recommend only if you want to stay in the Cancun area and near the night clubs. The hotel in general is okay, the personal is friendly except for the fact that they try pretty hard to sell you the membership
