Very convenient to stay for a theatre night out at Apollo Victoria theatre... It is 1 stop away by train but we ended up walking it as it's so close.

"Nice location"
This was a very pleasing experience. The hotel was close to the Tube and major attractions. It was quiet, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. There are different electrical outlets for all major countries so no adaptor was needed. I slept very well. The room could be climate controlled and had blackout blinds.

"This was not a hotel but a service apartment."
I have no problem with it as a service apartment, but I missed the facilities normally found in a hotel, e.g. tea/coffe making in the room.

    Pocket Guide: London Chelsea Hotels

Chelsea is one central London’s most affluent areas. It is neighboured by upmarket Knightsbridge and South Kensington. Chelsea is notoriously rich. Property, shops, eating and drinking venues are all expensive and exclusive here. Residents include London’s wealthiest bankers and celebrities such as Chelsea Football Club owner, Roman Abrovamich. Also in residence, are the cast of reality TV’s ‘Made in Chelsea’ programme.

Chelsea has a rich history and is a great place to stay when visiting the English capital. In the 19th century Chelsea was a bohemian neighbourhood and home to many literary greats such as Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift and Thomas Carlyle. It was also home to famous painters Dante Rossetti, and J.M.W Turner. In the 1960s Chelsea was the centre of Swinging London – then defined by styles of London’s King’s Road. Then home to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

These days the area is much more gentrified. King’s Road, Sloane Street and Fulham Road are the neighbourhood’s well known shopping streets with a mix of independent, high street to mid-range shops and exclusive stores.

For a look into Chelsea’s colourful past, check out the extensive Chelsea Collection at the Chelsea College of Art and Design. For a look at modern Chelsea, check out Chelsea Village and Chelsea Harbour.
