The hotel was excellent and we would return on another visit. We found the restaurants in the hotel did not have enough casual or light dining. A coffee shop style facility would have been a welcome addition so we could pop in for a light snack in the evening. Otherwise the hotel was superb.

From arriving to leaving we found all staff to be very attentive, polite and efficient.
The concierge on Saturday 1st was extremely busy but still dealt with all the people seeking help and assistance in a friendly manor.

a warm greeting and a welcoming smile immediately on entering the hotel, reception professional and again very friendly informing us of hotel facilities, our luggage taken to a pristine clean room, I think the logistics of preparing and serving all hotel guests in the breakfast lounge could be a nightmare but i found it to be run like a tight ship the staff very much aware of our needs ,finally i found it necessary to have access to my luggage which was being stored until ready to leave and found again the porters very accommodating, nothing was a trouble to them.

Came to stay for 3 nights from York, found the hotel staff welcoming and helpful, very nice having someone take our heavy bags up to our room whilst we had a drink.
Our room was fantastic and clean, had everything we could possibly want. It had a well appointed and clean bathroom which was a pleasure to use. Comfortable bed, but please, please, get rid of those extra cushions that just take up room!
Had room service on the last day that arrived precisely when it was supposed to, overall a very enjoyable stay in a very wonderful city.

I literally couldn't say more great things about this hotel. I will definitely be back and will only stay here. Their location couldn't be any better and the comfort and attentiveness of the front desk is above and beyond most hotels I've stayed in. They allowed an early check in when we came in from a overnight flight and were exhausted. Also, they were very comfortable and clean. The bathtub is huge and the towel warmer is amazing. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Edinburgh. This hotel is within walking distance to anything in Edinburgh- castle, tour pickups, shopping, train station. Also the cafe next door is great for breakfast as we never had it at the hotel. I will be back to stay here.

We stayed at 'The Midland' on 25/10/14 for one night. We were greeted by a doorman, who offered to park our car for us, a lovely welcome! We checked in and were given our room key for the sixth floor. Our room had a lovely city view. The room we thought, although was comfortable, was a bit 'tired looking' and maybe due for redecoration. Nevertheless, apart from this we were more than satisfied with the service and all staff were very polite, courteous and helpful. We ordered supper using the room service for a 'Midland club sandwich' which was fresh and delicious!
Breakfast, the following morning was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed this too.
We will, if needing to stay in Manchester, certainly return to 'The Midland'.
