Check into a hotel in the St. Andrews and you’ll be staying at a hotel in the "Home of Golf". Enthusiasts for the game come from around the world. The St. Andrews Golf Club is one of the oldest in the world, and dates back to 1843. Purchase a temporary membership to cross this historic green off your bucket list.
Even if golf isn’t your thing, the club building and coastal course make for great holiday photos. As a seaside university town, St. Andrews offers plenty of attractions within a compact setting. Discover local sea life when you visit the St. Andrew's Aquarium, located at The Scores. You can find good range of St. Andrews hotels at prices that will suit any traveller.
Naturally, thanks to the student presence, St. Andrews can get pretty lively in the evenings. But since the University of St. Andrews plays host to royalty (both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended), you can expect a lot of class. St. Andrews has more pubs per square mile than anywhere else in the UK. St. Andrews isn’t too big either, so you won’t have any problem finding your way back to your cosy St. Andrews hotel after a night sampling the fine local ales and delectable local dishes.
St. Andrews’ West Sands beach extends for nearly two miles, backed. It’s only a 15 minutes’ walk from the town centre, making quite a convenient seaside attraction for anyone staying in a hotel in St. Andrews town centre. Film buffs will definitely want to get down there, as it’s famous for being the location for the opening scene of the film Chariots of Fire.
West Sands beach is a top spot for a bit of water sports. Here you can go kayaking, sea fishing, sailing or surfing. Located on the south side of the old harbour, this sandy beach makes up part of the Fife Coastal Path and is just as easy to reach from the town as its western cousin.
Shoppers will love the many boutique shops in the town centre. There’s no one high street here, but the three main parallel streets North Street, South Street and Market Street form the central district. Many central hotels are also found on North Street. Once you arrive in St. Andrews it’s easy to navigate on foot, and this is the best way to take in the historical buildings and beautiful coastal landscape.
Stay at a hotel in St. Andrews and soak up the golf scene in this quaint Scottish town.
