G&V Royal Mile Hotel Edinburgh

1 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh - Map
"Great location for exploring Edinburgh on foot."
Originally made reservations at Hotel Missoni and were a little freaked out to find out it was bought (we didn't receive any notice on our pre-paid reservation). But all went smoothly. Everyone could not have been nicer nor more competent and anxious to please. We had a great stay in a gorgeous room.

"Great location; close to The Mile"
Friendly staff; good, basic accommodations; decent breakfast, but the same every day. Spacious bathroom, but the room was a little cramped, since we were 4 in a room. Overall, a pleasant experience, so we decided to stay at a Holiday Inn Express in London also.

"Luxury and style in central Edinburgh."
Quiet, comfortable, and a beautiful room. The West End neighbourhood is stunning architectually and very close walking distance to Dean Village/Bridge, the Scottish MoA, and to the main centre, Princes Street. Nearby William Street has great boutiques and cafes, and if you are of the new age - spiritual persuasion, the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre is on the corner. There are many yoga, pilates, and meditation studios nearby too. An overall great experience. Highly recommended.

"Excellent hotel in the best location in Edinburgh"
This is the best hotel to stay at in Edinburgh. It's location in the center of town and next to the train station make it ideal. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are quiet allowing for a great sleep. My favourite part was stumbling upon the J.K Rowling Suite, it's where she finished writing Harry Potter

"Fantastic in every way x"
Just love this hotel, location and everything about it. Perfect for night at theatre at The Playhouse and close enough to shops and George Street nightlife to walk, and just far enough away to enjoy a bit of peace from the princess street buzz. Can't recommend enough x

"Great place"
Loved this hotel. A bit out of the way, but it's beautiful and comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the "do not disturb" sign was actually honored. My extremely tiny room was surprisingly comfortable and well-designed. A great value, and literally right in front of the bus stops to the city center and airport.

Booked this hotel for my parent's short visit to Edinburgh. Location, staff and the rooms being quiet and clean is normally top priority for my folks and they loved this place

"Amazing location, great accommodations"
The location of this hotel is superb. I walked outside, turned the corner, and was immediately looking at the St. Giles Cathedral. It's situated in the middle of the Royal Mile (the high street), and I was able to walk here from the train station, and walk everywhere I wanted to go in Edinburgh from the hotel. The accommodations are lovely as well. The room was very clean, well kept, and had all of the amenities I needed. It doesn't have AC but you don't need it - I stayed in the middle of summer and open windows were all I needed for cooling. Very clean and roomy (although you won't need to spend much time in the hotel in such a beautiful city). They had complimentary on-site self-serve laundry facilities as well, which is huge since hotel laundry service fees are always exorbitant.

    Pocket Guide: Edinburgh

There is such a wide variety of fantastic hotels in Edinburgh, from great value budget accommodation to opulent 5-star hotels, and every level of luxury in between. We offer a range of Edinburgh hotels guaranteed to suit every taste and, of course, every pocket.

If it's a spot of sightseeing you're after, then you've come to the right city! Edinburgh is choc-full of stunning architecture and rich Scottish history. Combine a well-deserved pampering stay in one of the city's indulgent spa hotels with a trip to Edinburgh Castle, where you can pay a visit to Mons Meg; one of the world's oldest cannons, take part in one of the castle's famous guided tours, or even take a peek at the Scottish crown jewels.

For a culture-rich weekend break for two, very few UK cities have as much to offer as Edinburgh. Head to the National Gallery to view works by some of the world's finest artists, such as Cézanne, Botticelli, and Rembrandt, before taking in a show at the King's Theatre. Round off the day with dinner and drinks in one of the picturesque romantic hotels scattered throughout the Scottish capital.

If you're on a family holiday, and a visit to the National Gallery just isn't doing it for the kids, why not try a trip to Edinburgh's Camera Obscura and World of Illusions? After depositing your bags in one of the many charming boutique hotels located in the city centre, take a short walk to the top of the Royal Mile to experience this fun-filled family-friendly attraction. Pick living pedestrians up in your hands, or wander through the infinite light tunnel. Before you leave, make sure to visit the "Fantastic" exhibition; one of the biggest hologram exhibitions in all of Europe!

Edinburgh is also a great destination for a relaxing golf trip. Base yourself in any of the fine luxury hotels the city has to offer. Then spend your days teeing off at the legendary Muirfield Golf Course in East Lothian, while your evenings can be devoted to enjoying the great food and even better Scotch available in your hotel or in the many equally excellent bars and restaurants all over Edinburgh.
