Centrally located in Old Town, near everything, on tour bus route, lots of restaurants to choose from. Hotel itself looks brand new, great restaurant in it for food all day. I had breakfast included which had American pancakes which made my kids very happy.
Very central hotel with extremely comfortable rooms which are always very clean
I liked the location.. right on Princes street, breakfast was fab, reception staff were friendly. I didn’t like the fact there was no air con. You can probably count on one hand the number of cities that have a castle right in the centre of them, and there are none more picturesque than Edinburgh. One of Scotland’s most popular tourist attractions, Edinburgh Castle is a stone’s throw away from a variety of fantastic hotels.
Around this area you will walk down the Royal Mile teeming with street performers, markets, excellent restaurants and traditional pubs. A whole day can be easily spent exploring the castle then grabbing Scottish food and drink in the Old Town.
Visitor highlights at Edinburgh Castle include Mons Meg, one of the world’s oldest cannons, the magnificent Scottish Crown Jewels and the Stone of Destiny – a source of considerable political controversy throughout Scottish history. Find out the stories behind these amazing artefacts on guided tours.
For those hoping to bag some great pictures, the walk through the Castle Esplanade towards the castle walls offers some fantastic photo opportunities. Here you will see the Edinburgh skyline as Kings and Queens once did.
