For tourists, it's about a 15-minute, mostly flat walk to the castle and Royal Mile, etc. The apartment was modern, spacious, clean and warm. All the expected amenities were provided and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Only one small drawback - for travelers counting on the laundry amenities, the dryer was pretty ineffective (washer-dryer combo, design limitation, not a fault).
