We enjoyed our 4 night stay. Don't count on parking at the hotel if you have a car. We got two nights at the hotel than had to move our car to secure city parking two blocks away. Breakfast was good, but the Norwegians have them beat.
Very convenient location in Södermalm, just down the street from the metro station at Medborgarplatsen and the most excellent restaurant Kvarnen.
Rooms are tiny but clean. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Location can't be beat. Free fast WiFi. Price could not be beat.
Two negatives: the showers are tiny and do not fit plus-sized Americans, and the desks in the room are unusable as such. No extra services such as laundry or wake up call.
Great hotel for vacationers on a budget, but business travelers might want to look elsewhere.
I was in Stockholm for a short business trip. The Scandic hotel was exactly what I needed. Great location, good clean rooms and friendly staff. The location made it easy to catch the ferry or subway or just walk about town. Traveling as a single female, I felt safe walking from the hotel to the old town and enjoyed the great view from the rooftop bar in the evening. Breakfast was good typical scandinavian food with a nice selection. The staff was particularly helpful in giving me directions and setting up my transportation to the airport. I would be happy to stay their again.
This hotel in trendy Sodermalm is comprable to the Omena Hotel, but with a receptionist and a fantastic breakfast. Great place to stay, and while not in the centre of the city, it's a quick walk to two different metro stations. Loved the staff and our quick stopover here.
I knew I was going for a cheap place so I wasn't expecting the Ritz. The room was quite small and the bathroom smaller. I had a challenging time finding a spot to open my luggage. On the other hand, the room had everything I needed, including a hair drier. The carpet and bathroom are threadbare/over-used in places, but they are kept quite clean. The location is very central yet on a quiet street and the walls are thick enough that I didn't hear my neighbours. The breakfast was a great surprise - very abundant and varied.
We only had 2 nights at the Hilton Slussen. It was in a great position allowing us to catch the Arlanda Express train from the airport to the city and then just 2 metro stops to Slussen. We could walk to the old town and the ferry terminal and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. As our luggage had missed a connecting flight, it was being delivered by courier to the hotel. We asked staff on 2 separate occasions to please call us when the luggage arrived as we were desperate for a change of clothes. the luggage was delivered, but the call was never made. Room was small and overpriced for what you get.
We really enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel with colorful outside set in a park and garden area.. The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed eggs, nutella/toast, smoothies, granola, fruit, meat and cheeses.
Spent four days at The loft? I was a bit worried about lack of washing facilities in our room on the third floor but I got used to wandering up and down the corridor. However, in my 60s, you choose you time to avoid crowds.
The breakfast was really good and relaxed.
Once known as “Knife Söder” for its rough neighborhoods, Södermalm is now one of the trendiest parts of Stockholm with a thriving artist community. In the last few years, ABBA’s Benny has opened a boutique hotel here called Rival.
