We were able to check in 2 hours early and there was a coffee machine incl. oat milk which was great. The location is fantastic just a 4 mins walk from the metro station and 3 stops from the old town. The breakfast selection was good as well. We decided against the sister hotel (Glashus) as it looked a little too modern and came across the Malmgård, a nice little hotel with an interesting history, in a quiet neighbourhood. Friendly staff. Reception were chatty and very helpful with information and even offered the use of a microwave for our semi-cold takeaway dinner. Housekeeping were great. Nice clean room, bedding and bathroom. Lovely buffet breakfast, although best to turn up early or late for breakfast as the dining room is packed at peak times. The staff were always around, making sure coffee and breakfast items were topped up. Our room was small (standard double) but perfectly fine for a four night stay. There are a few areas in the hotel where you can sit and have a free coffee / tea etc. which was great after a day exploring. Walkable to Gamla Stan although bus and metro stops are at the bottom of the road (direct to central terminus). Plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute walk in the main street (Hornsgaten), and beware the local vintage / second hand shops...too many and not enough time ;-) Will we stay here again on our next trip.
