Really friendly and helpful staff, great for travel advice on top of the hotel service. Very well located a short walk from the Tube and right on the edge of Camden a high street with its unique shopping experience. We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time
We were going to a gig at The Forum in Kentish Town and wanted to stay close by instead of trying to get home late at night. We booked a twin room at The Corner House Hotel several months in advance but didn't have to pay anything until the day of our stay. Hotel was easy to find - tube to Camden Town, no. 29 bus to within 100yds of hotel. The walk to the Forum was about 10 to 15 minutes. The next morning we had a no frills continental breakfast in the attached conservatory.
Have to admit that I wasn't expecting much, but I wanted a place to stay close to Islington as my husband and I were attending a gig together with our daughter and her partner - hence booked two rooms.
Ours was as we expected, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. The ensuite could do with a little work but all in all ok. Our daughter's room however, was not great with the ceiling falling in and very dingy.
The breakfast was a pleasant surprise, well cook and decent sausages and bacon, speedily served and nice and hot.
Special Thanks to Chris on reception, who I spoke to on the telephone the day prior to arrival to enquire about motorcycle parking close by. He went the extra mile for us and found free motorcycle parking around the corner and explained to our daughter that she could park her car outside the hotel after 6.30pm for free. He's a gem.
This hotel is a short walk from Camden town, Kentish town and near major transport links. There's a park nearby, a tesco garage and other shops a short walk into the towns. The room was pleasant and functional, there are a lot of stairs so it would not be suitable for people with mobility issues. There is a lot of security so everything feels safe. The breakfast was good although I do think it could be on for a little longer.
