“Not to even minimum expectations”
The queens hotel was nothing but disappointment. The room was very small, promised a twin bed and found single broken bed and no other furniture, promised free internet which didn't happen, and no hot water in the morning.
“Wont be going back !!!”
Needs a total refurbishment ... Breakfast in basement !! Stairs and carpets filthy so didnt eat there....bed linen clean ... Noisy shower... Looked like a black and white 1950s film set of a hostel !
“Was ideal !”
The hotel was alot better than expected! My room ws nice and spacious with an en suite bathroom. Whilst I was there they were painting. I would like to give some small tips on how to improve the hotel. First of all I complained that my shower was not working properly, no one never came to fx it meaning I did not have a decent shower. The shelf on top of my basement was cracked, I'm sure with minimum charge it can be replaced. And my room was not cleaned properly everyday. The breakfast was good but the kitchen room needs to renovated, the girls were very helpful however if they wore some kind of dress code it would give a better image. I felt in general that the hotel with some minimum changes the hotel could get a higher rating. The location for me was ideal as it was a quiet area close to central London.
“UNIMPRESSED”
UNFORTUNATELY THE HOTEL WAS UNDER REPAIRS ON MY VISIT.
“Main problem: far from everything.”
Other reviewers are right that it is old, but for the money, it's decent. Pretty old, but decently kept up for all that. The main problem is that it is about a 20 minute train ride from Kings Cross & 40 minutes from the center of London.
“Reasonable hotel; reasonable price”
1. I needed to work in London for just a few days. The location of the hotel is good -- I can reach my office via Tube within 30 mins. 2. The hotel is surrounded by mostly residential appartments. You can actually feel that the area is quite safe. 3. The price is economical. My only reservation is that we share a toilet and bathroom. This may be a concern to some visitors. Well, I can live with it, given that I don't prefer to pay more for my hotel.
“Probably the worst "hotel" in Europe”
When I checked in I was told my room was a single with a shared toliet and shower - I was told this was how the product was loaded into Expedia. I am a travel agent and this seemed surprising as the hotel was self rated two star. When I spoke to the manager the next day, he said his staff had actually over booked and basically lied. The property was awful. The toliet for example was cracked and old towels were on the ground. The shower handle was rusted through and broke off in my hands. The only "inclusion" was a cake of soap. Apparently milk for tea and shampoo are "extras". I work for an youth travel company which uses backpacker hostels - they are better than this place. If the weather was nice, I'd recommend sleeping outside on a bench and saving your money.
“a little out of the way”
The room was fine but the breakfast was an awful lot of grease and they didn't have much selection
“The Hotel from Hell... Avoid at ALL Costs. SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!”
This is an all around horrendous hotel!! I'm a college student traveling around Europe so I'm used to staying in shady hotels and hostels, but never have I ever experienced anything like this. We showed up looked at our room and left immediately to find another place to stay. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! (We didn't believe the other bad reviews of this hotel and we paid the price for that.... please take this warning seriously).
“not the taja mahal”
well if your a few guys going then it would probably be ok, but dont take the wife if she likes nice things. people were nice, room not bad, needed paint and some maintenance , toilet seat broken for 11 days and noone fixed it. breakfast was ok, im not used to boiled in oil eggs. but not bad. rates were good. ali was very helpful.
