"Seat cover by pool side were all ripped and falling apart. The pool itself was OK. The bar was small but since we don’t drink, we don’t care."

"The hotel rooms were quite clean, though the sofas in the lobby bar were noticeably a bit dirty. The selection at the buffet was somewhat limited; while dinner reservations weren't required and the food tasted decent, the service was very mediocre. We even experienced sitting at a table for half an hour without anyone attending to us—we didn't even get a glass of water! However, the coffee shop in the hotel lobby served up some truly aromatic coffee. Overall, the hotel offers good value for the price, but it’s nothing spectacular."

"The location of the hotel by the beach is good. It is however across from a water treatment plant so the smells at the front of the hotel especially at nights was terrible at times. The food is mediocre at best, but the grounds and rooms are clean and maintained well. It is a decent place to stay but lacks activities after hours and does not offer room service. The pools are small but were never overcrowded."

"It was my least favorite of the Excellence Resorts. A Lobster House with no lobster. Staff threw away personal belongings. Some staff was rude and left our door wide open after room service."

"The rooms need to be upgraded their very basic. The Asian restaurant and Mexican restaurant is good the steakhouse was mid. They have food at night in the sports bar but it looked old a picked through. Drinks were watered down, breakfast buffet was probably the best food they had during the day. Bought an excursion while I was at the hotel and let me tell you I wish I hadn’t. Went to Isla Mujeres on the Catamaran the view was nice from the boat but that was it. It came with a buffet and the flies ate the food before us, when I bought the excursion they said it came with transportation, but on my way back to the pier they told me I had to walk back to my hotel which I had to end up paying $13 for a taxi for a 5 minute ride. "

"I paid for an all-inclusive trip meeting. I don’t have to pay for anything, but what I paid for to get there I was unable to eat at any restaurant on the property due to lack of information provided by the staff of when to eat or where to eat or what to where to eat. I was giving information on one thing follow those instructions got to a restaurant only to be turned away due to lack of room, or I was underdressed when in fact, there were people eating that we were wearing the same thing I was I was given a reservation for a restaurant the hibachi place I showed up for my reservation and they did not have me on the list so I could not eat there I did not eat from any restaurant except for breakfast at the resort my whole visit I would not recommend going to this resort to anyone of my friend. I will never be back again, and I was was not compensated in any way for the fact that the first day I got there was supposed to be at 1 PM. I didn’t get there till 5 PM because of 2 1/2 hour ride from the airport to the resort when it was supposed to be 21 minutes and then I finally got the resort. Nobody informed me of anything about the hotel got to my room by myself without instructions on how to use the electrical panel that supposedly operated everything in the room so I didn’t know how to put up the shades or open the windows or anything. The outside awning was broken. The inside awning was broken so my secondary resort there was maintenance people in and out of my room all day "

"This was my first and last time in Royalton, food was terrible, need to book each restaurant even though they were half empty, broken cabinet doors in room, shower head leaking, and so on, and then they were trying to sell me there membership."
