Hotel Riu Palace Riviera Maya - All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent

"The grounds and the pools are beautiful. Enrique, especially, Luis and the other bartenders at the pool/beach bar are wonderful, as are Adriana, Claudia and Esteban at the Lobby Bar. We really enjoyed the daily evening cocktail with Esteban. The rooms are kept clean daily. There are plenty of food options, and while the specialty restaurant menus are not quite as good as they have been in the past, the food is still very good. Sargassum has been issue the past couple of years we’ve been here, but they do a great job of trying to keep it cleaned up. This is definitely our favorite place to stay in Playacar."

"I love this resort. Ive been there several times now and always look forward to returning. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The property is enormous and it must be a tremendous undertaking to keep up with the landscaping and maintenance, but it is always clean and the well maintained. The buildings appear to be showing some age but they are undergoing renovations. The beach is absolutely stunning. Time on the beach alone is worth the trip. My only "complaint" if it can be said to be one, is the food at the a la carte restaurants is me. Service is good, but each time I find I would have preferred to go to the buffet. I cannot wait to return."

"Wonderful stay, amazing entertainment! We had a great time at this RIU Yucatan property. The amenities were good, and the bars were excellent with a huge selection of drinks for my husband and me to enjoy. The food was okay—not exactly what I expected, but it had a lot of variety. We absolutely loved the nightly events! They were very family-friendly, great for young kids, and the live music was excellent for a nice night outside"

"Breakfast and lunch are okay to good. Dinners are really amazing 10/10. Overall, I would say the food is above average. The only restaurant where the food fell short was the grill. All the other dining options were excellent. Desserts taste great and there is a lot of variety. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the drinks at the restaurants are great. Because the resort is not very crowded, it feels chill and peaceful. The visitors are mostly older couples. Overall, this resort offers great value for the price. However, I would say the only downsides to this resort are: The location: It is in Playa del Carmen, where the beach suffers from sargassum. It is also somewhat difficult to travel to and from this location. Activities: There are not that many fun activities available at the resort."
