"Nice location, staff were helpful and breakfast/food was great.
Stayed for one night in the heat wave and room was sweltering - but found a fan in the wardrobe to help."
"Fantastic view from our room and easily walkable to shops and cafes.
The hotel buildings are old and a bit tired but the welcome is warm and the food is great."

The Bristol Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Everything good. Staff very nice, friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely with a great view. Location of the hotel was great being only a short walk to the harbour side and all bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend."
"I had a fantastic stay at the Clayton Hotel Bristol. Everything from check-in to check-out was seamless. The staff were friendly and professional, the room was spotless and comfortable, and the facilities were excellent. The location is perfect for exploring the city, and breakfast was a real highlight. Overall, a great experience I’d definitely stay again"
"This hotel is typical Marriott, comfortable but not exciting. The location, however, is what makes it superb. Steps away from the railway station and in the midst of the city’s vibrant nightlife scene. Convenient to the castle as well — a must-see stop in Cardiff!"
"Reception staff very helpful when my vehicle was to tall to fit in the car park, they came up with a solution straight away without me having to find an alternative."
"This property was convenient, right next to Cardiff Central, but quiet (could not hear the trains from the room). The area is perfectly situated in the shopping district of Arcades, between the castle and the harbour front. Only concern was them requiring my passport number on check in. I’ve never been asked for this at any hotel in the past. "
"Easy parking behind the hotel at just £14.00 via the mipermit app. Free to park between 6pm and 08.00. The hotel also offers parking but this costs £21 a day. Easy walkable route into town for the Castle and city centre shopping. I would stay here again."
Penhow is a charming village in Wales, but when it comes to nightlife, it's more about tranquil evenings than vibrant party scenes.
For those seeking a lively night out, nearby cities like Newport and Cardiff offer a plethora of options. In Newport, you can explore the vibrant bars and pubs along Commercial Street, where you'll find a mix of lively venues showcasing local music and a friendly atmosphere.
Cardiff, just a short drive away, is known for its bustling nightlife. The popular district of Barrack Lane boasts a variety of nightclubs and cocktail bars, great for dancing the night away or enjoying a sophisticated drink. And if you feel like something a bit different, the historic Castle Arcade features unique bars and eateries housed in beautiful architecture.
