A superb stay at a must visit hotel in the beautiful city of Florence. This was our first visit to a Four Seasons Hotel and certainly won't be our last. The setting in beautiful gardens and amazingly friendly and efficient staff was a real winter treat.
The Four Seasons hotel Florence is a private enclave in a frescoed Medici-era palazzo and restored convent that is only …More
The hotel is relatively new, but beautifully constructed and features a roof terrace with some lovely views over the city. We stayed in a Junior suite which had a great amount of space for the family, nice bathroom and featured a kitchenette which after a visit to local Co-op or Conad supermarket, was very useful for breakfasts, and the odd evening meal. The hotel also has a swimming pool area which was nice to use and relax after a day sightseeing. The hotel team were very helpful and responsive when we needed something or had a query. Overall, a great space and base to explore Florence for the family.
It's not a Hilton but it's a great hotel located in the heart of Florence. Good rooms and staff, and hearty buffet breakfast so you can fill up for your day of travels. I went in January, off-season and it was good.
No coffee making facilities in room which was very disappointing. Had tea and coffee in the hotel lounge looking out onto a lovely court yard.
Breakfast was great with a perfect amount of choice of things to eat.
Staff extremely helpful.
The pillows in the rooms were lumpy and impossible to use. Asked staff and they managed to find a spare one for me.
I stayed with my husband & 7 month old daughter for 4 days in November. The apartment was a little tricky to find but it was clean, comfortable & about a 15 minute walk to the duomo. The staff were very helpful with little queries we had regarding our stay. The apartment had a travel cot & highchair for our daughter.
We felt it was good value for money & we would return if we go to Florence again.
The Meridiana hotel was a wonderful hotel for my wife and me. Our small room was in the back of the hotel and away from the street so it was very quiet. It looked over a picturesque view of charming older buildings with the Forence hills in the background.
The free breakfast was beautifully served in a large, cheerful, bright room. I looked forward to it each day. It consisted of hot drinks, juice, assorted breads, eggs, a variety of meats, cereals, croissants, fruit, and milk.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and very welcoming. All the ones we met spoke excellent English.
The lobby was comfortable, with ample seating and a tv. It had a computer in a small adjoining room. Documents that needed to be printed could easily be arranged on the hotel reception's printer.
The hotel was a ftfteen to twenty minute walk to the edge of most of the historic sights. it would have been nice if it were a little closer for us. Howerver, there is a city bus we used less than five minutes from the hotel that goes to most of the tourist sights and comes every twenty minutes. The cost was only 1.20 Euros. Within 20 minutes it will pass close to the vast majority of tourist places of interests. It also has a stop across from the Santa Maria Novella train station.
The hotel offered free wifi. It worked only some of the time from my room on the fourth floor. However, it worked perfectly in the Lobby.
San Marco is a church and monastery set in Florence, dating back to the 15th century. The most notable aspects of San Marco are the frescos by Fra Angelico, a much-revered Renaissance painter. A museum is on site, and tours are available.
