This hotel is a stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio overlooking the Arno. I's a great area and easy walking to many good restaurants recommended by the hotel (that aren't in the tourist centre). We had two excellent meals in restaurants recommended by the hotel staff. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The facilities were all very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
My wife and son who just finished university booked The Park Palace Hotel in a triple room for four nights commencing 14th August 15 .This is our second visit to Florence and I must say this hotel did not disappoint. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the centre, but only a 20 minute stroll to The Ponte Vecchio - up hill for part of the way on the return leg!).Bus stop right outside hotel (cost 1.20e for a ticket lasting 90 mins).Plenty of selection for breakfast, scrambled eggs only cooked item. Our room overlooked the pool which was never crowded, plenty of sun beds ,excellent for swimming and relaxing.Food in the restaurant excellent but menus don't change.Staff friendly and very helpful, rooms clean, our room rather dark but you don't spend a great deal of time there, and of course you have lights!Lovely lounge and balcony for dining. No hesitation in recommending this hotel,if you book I'm sure you'll enjoy!
UNA Hotel Vittoria is a modern, well-design hotel just outside the city.
The rooms are small but well-designed, featuring rain showers and atmospheric design features, including blue LEDs on the walls and ceiling that light up like stars. The hotel also features a solid bar and restaurant.
Location-wise, the hotel is right next to several local bus lines that go into town and to Piazzale Michelangelo. The walk into town is about 20 minutes, which for us was tolerable, but, in the summer heat, probably a tiny bit longer than we would have liked.
Staff were helpful and attentive.
Running late for hotel check in. The staff communications were excellent and guided us through the process. In the morning, the staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. I cannot fault any part of our stay. A lovely hotel, clean, friendly staff, great location. Numerous attraction literally on your doorstep. Very peaceful at night with no background noises.A perfect stay for our 20th Wedding Anniversary.
Our stay at Villa Agape was a great way to start our vacation to Italy. The Villa had old world charm yet modern conveniences. The gardens where beautifully maintained and the staff was very nice. Most spoke very good English and where warm and friendly. The breakfast was exceptional, and the little bar was fairly well stocked and generous pours and they didn't gouge you for the convenience. Nothing at all what you would expect to find included in a stay at a typical hotel. The room was a little on the small side but hey we were in Italy so didn't stay in it much. My only caveat would be that unless you have a car or plan on using taxi it's a little ways away from the sights and sounds of old town Florence. They do provide a free shuttle with limited stops and times but you then need to either walk or use the city bus system so download their times and routes before you go.
Villa Betania had large clean, comfortable rooms. Location was a 20 minute walk from town. Air conditioning worked very well in extreme temperatures. Breakfast was adequate to meet our needs. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Location was very picturesque. We would stay here again!
The name literally means beyond the Arno, the river that runs through Florence. On this side of the city, Piazzale Michelangelo provides a postcard-perfect view of Florence and the hills beyond. Palazzo Pitti has a rich history, and today houses a large number of museums and art galleries. The eclectic mix of Florentines living in Oltrarno make it a must-see for anyone seeking an authentic Florence experience.
