Marlin Waterloo

"The location is the best thing about the property. It is 5-10 min walk away from the underground station and has many subway lines that you can take. The property is modern and next to a Pret for a quick coffee in the morning and a short walk to many nice restaurants. When we arrived, check in was fast but when we got to our room, I was disappointed that I did not get the king bedroom that I reserved. Upon speaking with the front desk, I was told that the king beds in London are smaller than in other countries. I am from Canada and saw the photos, the king size bed was huge. I insisted that there was an error made and was eventually told that I was 'upgraded' to a room with a kitchenette but a smaller bed. Sorry, that is hardly an upgrade. If I wanted a kitchen, I would have booked that room. You should have asked me before making the change. No apologies from anyone for the error. Not impressed. We were rushed to get changed for a show and we lost 30 min from this error. Rooms are cleaned every second day so with our three night stay, we didn't mind. Only problem was the cleaner left a dirty rag on the night table. I've stayed all over the world in many different hotels and this has never happened. Lastly, every morning at 9am, someone knocked on our door. First morning, they had to change the shower head due to mold. Second day, the cleaner knocked. Bed wasn't bad but the pillows were standard pillows for a king bed. Overall, it was okay but I may not stay here again."

"Amazing location, on the shower box there was no place to put anything. ( soap for example ) the elevators most of the time very crowded. I got an early check in. But when it was check in time. It had huge lines, TV remote wasn’t working properly. Only turnê on and off. Couldn’t change channel, breakfast was good. But always the same thing. Best part is location."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Forest Hill?

The best time to visit Forest Hill is typically during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, the weather is generally pleasant, with milder temperatures and less rainfall compared to the winter. This makes it ideal for exploring the local area, including the Horniman Museum and Gardens, which is a key attraction in Forest Hill. The gardens are particularly lovely in spring with new blooms and in autumn with the changing leaf colours.

For those looking to enjoy extended daylight hours and warmer weather, the summer months (July and August) are also a good option. While it can be busier with local families enjoying school holidays, the longer days allow for more time to explore the local parks and outdoor spaces, like Sydenham Hill Wood.

Conversely, winter (November to March) can be quite cold and damp, with shorter daylight hours.

Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy.
