When we arrived we checked in and were told our room wasn't ready, so we went out to Lunch and when we came back we collected our luggage and went to our room, but the room still hadn't been cleaned or made up. So we went back to reception to complain and we were asked to wait in the bar until it was ready, the hotel gave us a free drink.

On arrival was given a free upgrade and free drinks vouchers. Staff were both friendly and informative about local events. Room was clean, tidy and spacious, with a beautiful view of the city. Will be my hotel of choice for future trips to the city.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a birthday weekend away. Could not have asked for a better hotel or better service from the staff, they even went the extra mile and surprised us with some cupcakes for the occasion. Elisa from reception was extremely helpful and kind.

"Grand entrance and good restaurant but shabby room"
Stayed for 2 nights at end November 2016. Really love the central location and grand reception area. Coopers restaurant served a very good evening meal. Polite check-in staff. Concierge service OK.
The room on the second floor was disappointing; dated, a little shabby and the window frames were rusty and dirty. Poor attention to detail, for example, the wardrobe contained only 6 hangers between 2 people.
I had expected more of the room from this famous Manchester landmark.

Extremely long queue/wait at reception only two staff on at peak time.
Hotel tired and room shabby, in need of new bed.
The location is ideal for a short city stopover.
We only stayed one night and didn't eat at the hotel, would use again if only for location.
