"Nice hotel in a good location."
The hotel had a comfortable, large lounge. The room and bath were large for London, and comfortable. The manager allowed me to use his office to check into my flight and print out boarding passes, which was very helpful. The staff was friendly and helpful.

"Modern Hotel in London"
This is a relatively new hotel behind an old facade. The room I had was excellent - a narrow, long room with enough space, a well equipped bathroom which was modern and clean. Toiletries were good and there was a small refrigerator in the room - a real plus, air conditioning (a relative rarity in London at this price, and really necessary when it is hot - yes it does happen in London. I have been caught in a very small, extremely uncomfortably hot hotel room in London in the past, as London experienced a wave of hot days). Room servicing was very good. The hotel is walking distance to Paddington station - I used the Heathrow Express - and is about 2 minutes from Edgware Rd tube station. There are 3 supermarkets close by, the Marks and Spencer foodhall is just across the road. The area has some good pubs and lots of restaurants, with many middle-Eastern ones. The area is not as genteel as, say, kensington or Bloomsbury, but it is interesting and safe, and you are only a tube's ride from other parts of London. A walk down to Little Venice is worth it o a nice day. Breakfast can be bought at the attached Costas coffee shop - part of a chain, but there are other places close by. The hotel is recommended.

"Small but clean and great value "
Ok so it's not a 5 star grandiose hotel. It is however a clean, comfortable hotel in the middle of London that is great value. Highly recommended.

"Great value; other reviews unnecessarily harsh"
For the price, this hotel is a great value, and gets what I think to be an unnecessarily bad reputation on Expedia/TripAdvisor, probably from Americans like myself who somehow expect the Ritz Carlton at the exceptionally low rate we secured here. We arrived at the hotel very early at 10am as we had taken an overnight flight. We expected that we would have to just leave our bags and go find something to do for a few hours until check-in, since this is a smaller hotel and we had seen previous guests (probably unfounded) complaints online. Fortunately, and to our surprise, we were able to check-in early and take a short nap before heading out to Oxford Circus. The rooms/bathroom/TV are all small. That was all fine with us. We just needed a bed and a shower, we intended to spend the other 16 hours a day out in the city! So yes, this place is small, but it still served its purpose and was highly functional. And for the price, we simply couldn't beat it. All of the staff we interacted with (on each of the 3 separate shifts) were delightful. The only downside was that our A/C did not work. It was unusually hot for London in September, but, we did not report it. There was a stand fan in the room and we were able to open the window. Problem solved. Again, cheap cost, no room to complain. Extra value is found in that it's only 5-7 minute walk from Bayswater tube station, which is on the main Circle line, and one stop from a transfer to the Central line.
