We had a brief stay with events planned around Covent garden. The hotel is superbly situated for CG and is very close to Holborn tube station.
From the moment we arrived we were looked after very well by the reception staff and the porter. We were found a room very early on our checkin day which was helpful. Our room was very clean and the room and other areas we saw of the hotel were very tastefully decorated. We found no fault with the hotel or its staff.
We will be looking to stay here again.
This hotel is a very high class one which does not probably deal with young children often. I booked this as it was close to the theater I wanted to attend and did not want to travel late with a 3 year old and 2 others.
When we entered we saw lots of business people and interview rooms so we were a little apprehensive as to how they would greet three young children and grandparents.
I cannot believe how the reception staff reacted to us as we entered. They were so accomadating and friendly and directed the kids to the tv area whilst the formalities were carried out. They offered snacks and drinks like it was their own children.
The resteraunt staff were just the same for both dinner and breakfast.
I would have no hesitation to use this hotel again even if it meant a taxi ride from the theaters.
I thank the staff for everything and also management who never get accolades when things go right. Most clients do not realize that they are the reason everything is perfect.
We stayed 7 nights in December 2014, including the week before Christmas. Great location - less than five minutes from Holborn tube station.
Spotlessly and relentlessly clean. Our room was scrubbed and placed back in order every time we left it. In 7 days we only returned to find housekeeping in the room one time, but the room was always cleaned and straightened.
Quiet: We were 15 paces from the elevator (I counted) and I never heard anyone in the hallway and never heard the elevator. Never heard another television. The housekeeping staff were silent.
Best TV system I've ever seen in a hotel.
Perfect service from the staff: At reception we were treated like returning friends, despite that this was our first visit. We were given advice on which elevator to use, which wireless access system to use, and which breakfast room experience we should have. I only found the front door un-manned by a doorman once, and that was while he was helping another guest out of a taxi 20 meters away. I had to print some tickets - the concierge desk made that process take less than two minutes, and when they saw what the tickets were for, gave us excellent advice on lunch spots near the attraction. Smiles all around. Candles lit in each elevator lobby. In 30+ years of international travel I have never seen this standard of service exceeded.
Dining and Drinks: two breakfast rooms are available, with differing experiences. Both were good. Bar is excellent, and busy at night.
The Hotel was ideal for what we wanted and a fabulous location. The only criticism I would have is .... only one bar of soap ( no shower gel, shampoo etc ) and no hairdryer! Having travelled down to London on the train I tried to travel 'Light' and assumed there would be a hairdryer in the room. Panic Panic Panic.... No hairdryer. The rooms were basic but were suitable for our stay as you don't go to London to spend all your time in your room! Bit basic but would stay again no problem (and take my hairdryer with me).
