Very friendly staff... though probably a bit overworked during peak check-in/check-out times, especially given the tiny lobby area.
The room was very comfortable and had great connection points for electronic device plug-ins-- both for power and for connection to the television (plus iPod docking station alarm clock).
The bed was too soft, but first noticing this as I settled in quite late on the first night --and not wanting to bother the staff at that time-- with open access to the guest 'extras' amenities closet (one on each floor) I managed to get an extra blanket and stuff it underneath the part of the mattress that was not firm, thus solving the issue.
We booked our stay at the last minute - wanted somewhere cheap and convenient for Covent Garden and the Travelodge was fully booked. So pleased we ended up with this instead! Similar price to the Travelodge but much higher standard - all smart, modern and comfortable and right next to Holborn tube station so very convenient spot. The room was a good sized double, good bathroom (with bath, not just shower) and there was a little kitchenette. Check in and check out were efficient and staff were friendly.
The personal attention from staff was phenomenal. Personal handwritten notes, a gift part way through our stay, and an invitation to the Christmas tree lighting party really added to our London experience. We were steps from the tube and only a few minutes walk from Covent Garden and the Theatres. All the staff from the Concierge desk to housekeeping were friendly and professional. The Rosewood is a beautiful hotel. Our room was spacious and well appointed.
The Hotel was ideal for what we wanted and a fabulous location. The only criticism I would have is .... only one bar of soap ( no shower gel, shampoo etc ) and no hairdryer! Having travelled down to London on the train I tried to travel 'Light' and assumed there would be a hairdryer in the room. Panic Panic Panic.... No hairdryer. The rooms were basic but were suitable for our stay as you don't go to London to spend all your time in your room! Bit basic but would stay again no problem (and take my hairdryer with me).
