"If you can look past the area that the 'George Hotel' is in then you have a beautiful old building with a very interesting history behind it. Yes the property could do with some investment and renovation, but the building inside was clean and the rooms were clean. The staff were all very friendly. The cover over the shower plughole was broken and the lead on the kettle was too short and had to be used on the floor. Also the mattress was too firm for us."

"Have stayed here quite a few times - every time I come up to visit my family in fact. Always clean, tidy. Comfortable large bed. Nice touches like good quality coffee and tea, free bottles of water, nice biscuits. Well maintained - overall a very pleasant place to stay"
