Lovely location, very well equipped, very comfortable. Plenty of space, My only criticism would be garden needs attention and windows need a good clean. Would we come again? Yes please!
We requested a change of room because there was no shower in the one offered. they were immediately pleased to do so. Staff were all very pleasant all the time we were there.
A lovely old and atmospheric country inn set in beautiful surroundings. The view from the rear garden is fantastic - over the Purbec Hills to Corfe Castle. The food was excellent and the main reason for not getting five star rating was due to shortage of staff, a problem they apreciate and are in ...

Really basic... More of a glorified motel than a B&B, but has an amazing breakfast!!!
Corfe Castle was constructed to create a gateway between Purbeck and the rest of the country. While it stood for hundreds of years and had various owners, from Willian the Conqueror to Sir John Bankes, it was the Civil War of the 15th Century that saw it reduced to the dramatic ruins that are so well known, today. Those looking for a base from which to explore the castle and the other attractions in the area would be well advised to investigate the range of local guest houses, such as the Amberlea Guest House and Vernon Lodge.
While Corfe Castle is a major draw for those with an interest in history, it is also something of a family attraction, hosting events throughout the year. From Easter Egg trails and Medieval Archery displays to re-enactments of battles between the Saxons and the Vikings, there's plenty for those travelling with children. In addition, there's a wide choice of family-friendly hotels near Corfe Castle, such as the Black Bear Hotel, the Bradle Farmhouse and the Savoy Hotel.
However, if you're visiting Dorset with a loved one and want to spend some quality downtime together, there are some superb, luxury hotels close by. The Morton House Hotel combines old-school elegance with modern facilities, set in a 16th Century Elizabethan manor house, while the Scott Arms Inn is all timbered beams and whitewashed, stone walls.
There are many other attractions close to Corfe Castle, so there's no shortage of sights to see. The Swanage Railway is just a short drive away, as are the nearby beaches.
Corfe Castle is a spectacular attraction to visit at any time of year. With excellent accommodation close by, you can explore the county at your leisure.
