This was a surprise for my wife on our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We spent our Wedding night there. I booked via here of course but also phoned up & spoke to a lovely employee, Emma who moved us to a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden & train station. The room did not disappoint.
We had pre-booked anevening meal which was nice although so busy during the day the menu was limited by 19:30. My wife ordered a pudding & after a long wait was told that it was not available. However this was sorted out amicably & to our complete satisfaction as was reflected in the Bill.
The open windows at night & the sounds from the village including the church bells made for a most restful night.
The breakfast was excellent & hopefully will be hungry later on as going for afternoon tea!!
Overall a well run establishment with polite, friendly & professional staff. Has helped make our Anniversary celebrations very memorable. I recommend The Bankes Arms, Corfe Castle to anyone.
Cosy little B&B to explore Corfe and surrounding areas. Rooms are fairly basic and quite small, but we weren’t spending too much time in there which meant it didn’t impact us too much. Emma was lovely at the bar and made us feel at home from when we first arrived. Would go back but not for longer than 1-2 nights.
Historic hotel in the centre of Corfe Castle, very close to the castle itself and the Swanage steam railway. The main road through the village runs right outside the hotel but isn't too intrusive.
The staff were very friendly and the choice of food on the menu was good.
Our room (The Purbeck) was very comfortable.
Very enjoyable stay amazing food, and staff were very helpful nothing to much trouble. The room was clean and a good size. The hotel is set on major road through village this is very noisy but nothing that can be done about it by the hotel. This did not detract from the amazing location and hotel great stay overall
