Location is great, staff are friendly although quite a lot of junior staff who appear to be training.
The property is badly in need of renovating apart from the main bar and Italian restaurant the rest of the property is tired and dated. The maintenance that has been done in the areas is slapdash and only highlights that it is in a bad state of repair. An example was the light in the lift was flickering and broken, so they screwed an undercabinet light to the ceiling as a replacement and left the broken one in.
This hotel is advertised as 4 stars but falls far short of that. We stayed in a sea view deluxe room which was priced at over £350 per night. The furnishings and carpet were threadbare, the doors to the balcony didn't fit very well and on 2 occasions were left unlocked and open by the cleaner all day! The TV in the bedroom did not work, the doors to both the sitting area and bathroom were so badly fitting they had to be slammed in order to shut them (not good when you can hear your neighbours just having a normal coversation). The Bath taps, and toilet cistern were constantly dripping. There was space specifically for a hairdryer, but no hairdryer. The list goes on, but all things that should be picked up and rectified before guests are allowed to use the room.
It was a shame as this was a special occasion and this hotel is not special in the slightest apart from it's price and location.
