Great First All-Inclusive Experience

Posted 26-Apr-2017
Pros: Beautiful accommodations, excellent service, lots of options for drinks and food all hours of the day. I loved walking right out to the beach.
Cons: HATED open floor plan (only glass walls to separate the toilet). And adjoining balconies looked right into the room. Need more indoor entertainment.
My first time at an all-inclusive resort, but I've done lots of cruises which are similar so I had some frame of reference. This place was really beautiful with lots of options for relaxing by the pool or beach, and wining and dining. Restaurants were lovely, and food was good but not amazing, honestly. We thought the Italian was best, and the breakfast buffet each morning was outstanding! But the rest...like I said, good but not four star. We had some thunderstorms which did highlight how little there is to do if the weather is less than perfect, everything is very focused on the pool area. There's a tiny game room with old and busted equipment, which shows you how little people care about being inside--that is, until a thunderstorm forces you in! We only stayed four days so there wasn't time to get bored but I could see that being there a week might get a little dull unless you venture off the resort for entertainment, as there was little going on onsite.

We loved the resort hotel. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It was a very clean hotel. We had a beautiful view from our balcony. Breakfast room service was on time and delicious. This is definitely a five diamond hotel.

Beautiful beach front hotel

Posted 23-Apr-2017
Pros: Dinner menu was the best part of the hotel. I am not really a buffet person and as expected buffet was disappointing.
Cons: I wish more a la cart menu restaurant would be available during lunch. There was only one available other than the buffet.
Location: Location was great. It was over-looking a beautiful beach and there were several shopping malls near by, a short bus ride.
I loved our stay at this hotel. Location and view were exceptional. It was worth the money that I paid, since I had a great deal. However, I would not pay regularly advertised price even through Expedia. I heard or read from reviews that the service was great, however they were just good. There were some exceptions like David Chen from Market Café and Axel and Valleria from the pool activities. As for the food, breakfast and lunch buffet was mediocre at best. Their seafood buffet dinner was no better than their lunch. Better food was with a la carte menus. My favorite was Italian restaurant and favorite desert was orange crepe at Blue water Grill. However, all the restaurants were great with exception of Red Dragon. It was very difficult to get pool chairs at this hotel. It was always full and we had to get their early in the morning to get a decent spot.

Amazing!!!

Secrets the Vine is as advertised. Breathtaking views of the ocean from our room. Excellent staff.... The restaurants were awesome. Good & drinks galor. We were in the preferred level which offered exclusivity to amenities such as a private Butler, private pool & private lounge area w/ food & liquor. All-inclusive adult resort is definitely the way we will travel from now on. Secrets the Vine gets a 5 star rating from us!!

Fun modern luxury

Posted 16-Apr-2017
We stayed a few doors down at the Ritz for 3 days and it was great. Amazing food and service but kind of boring and more family oriented. When we checked into Secrets we were informed that we had been upgraded to the honeymoon suite- thanks Expedia! Huge and modern with enormous 2 sided balcony with postcard views. The outside had several different pools with entertainment and bars and lots of fun things to do. The beach is one of the best I have seen and I have been all over the Caribbean. The 3 days there were so amazing and fun. The food was good not great- Ritz definitely tops them there- but still pretty damn good. I highly recommend this hotel. One down side is the staff keeps trying to sell you additional stuff. I'm paying $550 a night and you want to milk more out of me? No.

Secrets of the Vine resort is an exceptional place to stay. Catering to adults only, Secrets of the Vine provides excellent service, taking care of guests to ensure they experience a relaxing stay. relaxing, carefree vacation. perfect beach front

Posted 05-Apr-2017
Pros: Asian and Italian restaurant are good for dinner. Recommend Market Cafe made to order omelettes and crepes for breakfast. Service is 10/10 from all.
Cons: Music at the pool and piano bar is repetitive and 5-10 years outdated. Play current music and change up the playlist. We heard the same 10 songs...
Location: No need to leave property. Beach is steps outside the pool. You can rent jet skis on the beach.
Overall another great visit. Our room this year was worse though in location 1427 - right above the VIP pool area and walkway to the floor 12 restaurants/spa/gym. We heard people 24/7 from yelling/partying to just talking. The walls are thing but that's pretty much every hotel wall. The pillows are horribly flat. Everything else about the room is perfect. The regular rooms are spacious. We had separate sinks, shower & restroom with plenty of room without bumping into one another. Nice balcony...though zero privacy as it felt like we were actually at the pool from our balcony. Eduardo and Luis at the pool bar, David in Market Cafe and Axel and Valeria on the entertainment staff were all professional and friendly. The service staff really makes the hotel. The service is 10/10 and if you tip at all that goes to 12/10. It's adults only so no kids splashing at the pool...but plenty of drunks to provide entertainment. Beach and pool volleyball everyday. Ask for shrimp quesadillas at the pool (not on the menu but way better than the items that are on the menu). You are in Mexico...why on earth would you not eat Mexican food all week? We like that there are no reservations to mess with too. Grab a buzzer, sit at the bar and have a drink and we never waited more than 20 minutes for a dinner table. The pool and beach are gorgeous. Kinda annoying but people save chairs at the pool starting at 6am. If you go before 730am take two books or magazines and save your chairs.

Pros: Space, swimming pools and variety of restaurnats
Cons: House keeping and service in general
Location: Location is reasonable
I had issues with cleaning my room on timely basis.. I left at 8:30 AM and came back at 3:30 and my room was not done ... when I complained, they said that I should have schedule cleaning my room !!!!!! There is bad smell in the bathroom .. sewer smell ... Food is OK and swimming pools are nice.. Another issue.. every time I came back to hotel I get through what is your name and room number and at times it took several minutes to be allowed in !!!
