Had a fabulous stay at Bovey Castle. First day it rained, which was fine by us as we sat in one of the many rooms of the castle, in front a fire, and enjoying a good book. The perfect down day during a busy trip. You must make sure that you are around for the Falconer who arrives at 10 in the morning. Usually he brings the owl, Merlin who, pun intended, is a hoot! The staff was fabulous and knew your name from the moment you checked in. Anything you desired, the staff was there to help you. I would go back just to stay here again!

Used the guest house as a base, my wife and I stayed for four nights. The double room with ensuite was very comfortable and a splendid breakfast each morning. Will stay again when we visit the area again.

"Beautiful place just below Dartmoor National Park"
Recommended to us for accommodation during a two-day business trip to Ashburton. An excellent base for this and our first stay anywhere in Devon. Relaxed and helpful staff. Good breakfast and facilities.
A fascinating contrast of wild empty landscapes, manicured beauty spots and picture-postcard villages, Dartmoor is one of southern England's last wildernesses, where ponies, sheep, and cattle graze freely. Most popular for day-trippers is the south east of the moor with wooded valleys and cascading streams. The central and northern parts feature wild open moorland with imposing rock outcrops ('tors'). The whole area is a walker's paradise.
