My family just returned from a week-long vacation at the Mereva and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff were super friendly, attentive and incredibly helpful. The included breakfast was heavenly and generous — from the lattes to the fruit bowls to the myriad ways to order your eggs. The property itself offers a beautiful, secluded boutique resort experience — exactly we wanted. The beds were comfortable, the view from our room was spectacular. I can’t recommend this place enough. The restaurant at the Mereva’s sister property Alea might just be my new favorite place to eat in the world.

Fantastic stay at Mereva!
Our stay at Mereva was amazing. Everything from check-in to check-out exceeded expectations. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and by the end of our trip, they felt like family. Our room was fantastic with perfect ocean view and very clean. Our fridge was stocked with water bottles every day which was super helpful in keeping us hydrated from our activities whether lounging in their two pools, to swimming in the ocean, to our excursions to the Tulum Ruins and Chichen Itza. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Mereva as a must stay when visiting Tulum.

Staff was super helpful and nice. Food on the property was very tasty. The property had pretty good amenities too. It was nice that they had two sister properties nearby to explore. We had a few issues with our room (AC broke) but the service team was quick to respond. Biggest downside was the proximity to town and the beach zone. Taxis to these areas were expensive and something we didn’t expect.

We have stayed at Mereva twice now. Once in 2019 and once now in 2023. It is a great hotel and staff is always friendly and helpful, the included breakfast is great, but since 2019 the prices of cocktails and dinners have gone up greatly. Everything was great but now quite worth the price in my mind.

The staff were all amazing and so friendly and helpful! They helped us book multiple outings, answered any questions we had and the food was phenomenal. It’s one minute walk from casa cenote which was incredible. Everything about this place was amazing except the hot water doesn’t work well. Otherwise our stay was a 10/10!

Did a lot of research before booking Mereva. For the price I couldn’t find another spot that was as nice. Everything about our stay was perfect, and I consider myself picky. We booked a king beachfront and originally I asked for ground level to walk our to the beach but we ended up with third floor and I’m very grateful we did. In the morning we woke up to the sun rising over the ocean and palm trees blowing in the wind. Our room was stocked with a mini nespresso, water, a few beer and pop every day. Our room was very well decorated, clean, the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was so nice. Beachfront is a bit noisy because of the wind (if you don’t like wind don’t go to Mexico its always windy but it keeps the heat manageable). The property is extremely well kept. Beach is small but they all are now with the seaweed issue. Location is perfect if you want quiet, hotel zone is full of beach merchandisers, partying, this location is quiet private. Service is top notch. Id recommend the hotel transfer with Tucan Kin. If you’re looking for clear water and white sandy beaches Mexico is not your spot right now - seaweed is a serious issue there and this resort made a effort to clear it daily but it’s impossible. Id recommend checking out Nerea down the street for food so good and beautiful spot. Thats where I would book next time (adults only). Wish I could write more good things but out of space. @jennn.johnson on Insta if you have questions happy to answer.

This place was wonderful. The staff made it Amazing. Oscar at the bar, Luis Miguel and Iris were a staple in our relaxing & comfortable stay. I would return just because of them. It was quiet and secluded. Breakfast options were wonderful as was dinner. We tried the sister restaurant for dinner but we’re disappointed and from there on we only continued with the staff & food that we liked and felt appreciated which was Mereva.

We were blown away by both the setting and the service at Mereva! We traveled with our three girls (10, 8 and 6) and had the most wonderful sta. The hotel itself is stunning - big healthy palm trees (with an abundance of coconuts!), two pristine swimming pools, lovely sitting areas, and of course, the gorgeous beach. The rooms were clean and spacious and ours even had a plunge pool on the porch, which our kids loved in the evening. Beyond the appearance and cleanliness, though, we felt so cared for by the incredibly friendly staff. Shout out to our favorite waiters, Jose Luiz, Oscar, Aaron, Dinicioco, and Miguel. They felt like family by the end of our stay! Abigail and Angeles at the front desk could not have been more helpful. They booked our car, wrote post-it notes with all the places we should visit, ordered us extra blankets, gave us towels/snorkel gear/etc when we headed out on adventures, and even just walked by and checked on us as we played at the beach. Truly could not speak more highly of the experience at Mereva and will be back again soon!

We enjoyed our beautiful Junior Beach front suite room views, the food, the friendly services of the front desk staff, the food service/bar staff and our housekeeper.. All staff always greeted us with a smile and were excited to assist with any needs we had. Location is great for rest and relaxation with a Cenote across the street to snorkel, swim or scuba dive. 10 minutes from Mayan Ruins and 20 minutes from tourists most visited area of Tulum. 45 minutes from Playa del Carmen.. We will definitely visit Hotel again soon.😊

Heaven on Earth
This secret botanical beauty will forever be apart of my wonderful Tulum experience. The front desk staff, especially Dahlia took extra care to call around places we wanted to visit to check times and fees. It was truly superb service all around. The mixed drinks were perfectly balanced. All staff maintained a joyful easy spirit that couldn’t come from anywhere but the hand of God. Wow! The place was perfectly placed between the busy downtown nightlife and the luxuries of Cancun. There are Mayan ruins just 10 miles away and a Cenotes in the neighborhood.

Mereva is an amazng botique hotel. The property is beautiful, the food is good and the rooms are nice with comfortable beds. The staff is great from the front desk to the kitchen and cleaning staff. It's a 20min drive to the hotel district and the beach clubs which we liked as it's a quiet, guarded location separated from the loudness of the hotel district and felt nice to come back to after a day at the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

At half the price I’d have no complaints but they charge for luxury and this isn’t that. Check-in was a mess. They billed us for a king and queen bed but the queen was a pullout on the floor that was right on the floor and, when open, takes up the whole room. The AC blows directly on that bed so sleepers on the floor are cold if the room is set cool enough for everyone else not to be hot. (Again, all of this would be ok at a Marriott.) The restaurant is expensive, especially the drinks but the service is a mess. Food arrives haphazardly and the first night my wife’s order simply didn’t show and our waiter disappeared for so long she just gave up. The next day for breakfast we were served stale bread/ pastries and lukewarm coffee. When I spoke to the manager he reluctantly agreed to wave our fee for dinner though upon checking out that charge was still on my bill. The area is remote (again, a bonus of the food is decent) so we didn’t have many options. The food was marginally better the rest of the week but service continued to be a problem (the next day at lunch the menu was not what was on the online menu so we all changed our orders last minute; the waiter carefully took everyone’s order but walked away without taking mine…). At dinner we tried room service and they were inexplicably out of pasta, the food arrive very late and our server left w/ a way for us to open our bottles. Again, all understandable if not at a very expensive rate.

The hold left on your credit card was not released on your checkout date and apologies for that, it was released yesterday and you will find there was a second compensation for the same amount.We apologize for the service shortfalls, we understand they need to be improved and sincerely did what we tough was best for your service recovery.Best regards

Nice Hotel - Poor Customer Service
The Hotel is Lovely. Nice view, nice beach, the bedroom was comfortable with lovely views of the beachfront. The food was good, particularly the pizzas, the drinks however are expensive. We paid a premium for the hotel, I Imagine as it was close to New Years. Unfortunately the service on many occasions didn't match the premium paid. On two of our three days we had to ask for our rooms to be cleaned which should be a normal in a hotel. We were advised that the delay was due to a lack of staff. Service in the restaurant can be variable. Sometimes quick, and attentive but quite often it seems they are understaffed, a few times we had to remind them to bring our drinks we had ordered. On one occasion they had lost our order (we were the only ones sat in the restaurant at the time so not sure how this was possible.) On the last day we had an early check out as we needed to catch our flight. We were at breakfast for 7am (when it opens) with our transfer due at 7.30. The kitchen was shut and no staff were present, they eventually arrived at 7.20 and advised a breakfast wouldn't be possible. They did however prepared a breakfast croissant for us to take with us which was kind. Unfortunately the staff had duplicated a taxi booking, we had already booked a transfer through the hotel. This meant when the taxi arrived we naturally assumed it was our transfer, only 15 minutes into the journey were we called to be made aware that the transfer was at the hotel and that a taxi had been

Beautiful property. A bit pricey but was happy to be away from the tourist crowds. Can’t beat the gorgeous view of the Caribbean Sea. Small beach but we felt like we had the place to ourselves. 10-12 minutes away from Xel-Ha, which the kids had a blast. Gorgeous cenote across the street from the hotel. Breakfast was included every day. Food & cocktails were excellent. Kayaks, life vests, snorkel gear are free. It’s a boutique hotel, eco friendly, so do not expect things u may get from a big resort. Staff were very friendly. We had rain the first couple of days, but even with the clouds, the ocean front view was gorgeous.

Totally unfriendly manager! They charged $USD600 extra more for our kids, compared with our friends who had even older kids, booked exactly the same room for exactly the same dates during the same week through Bookings.com rather than Expedia (it is pay at the hotel system and does not matter where you book). They refused to help at the hotel and the manager was extremely rude, not personal at all. Property had huge safety issues (slippery grounds and stairs when it rains, stairs not visible in the pool), and the manager acts like these issues do not exist despite serious accidents (that end up in hospitals) happening... There is street dog walking around who scratched my daughter's arm and the manager did not even visit us. There are big rocks in the very shallow ocean in front of the dock and there is even no warning on that. The manager only cares about how he can charge you more but nothing else including safety issues... The staff who were serving food in the mornings were nice but I felt so bad for them as they were only three people and working like crazy to serve everyone!

On your last day, you came to the front desk to request for that extra fee to be waived because your friends paid less through a different agency.I explained politely that we could not waive this fee as this is the rate published, indeed your friends by staying one extra night got a special weekly rate and in addition they booked through mobile which gives an extra discount which you did not. Refusing a rebate is not rudeness, but it is a negative answer.There was indeed an accident during the time you were at the hotel when a lady tripped and fell, this was not due to a slippery surface but to a footwear malfunction, this was recognized and the hotel liability was released by the same guest.The pool mentioned shows a clear no diving sign and it is the responsibility of the parents, not the hotel, to have their children respect the warning signs and behave accordingly, as is letting them play with neighbors' dogs on the public beach.We are sorry the service provided did not meet your expectations and we do feel that your comment derives from not getting the discount you were seeking to obtain.Best regards

Phenomenal. Just go. You won't regret it. I think this might be the best overall hotel in Tulum. The staff were so friendly. It has more pools than the other hotels. It also feels more private than the party zone areas. If you're looking for serene and relaxing this is the hotel. Also the food and drinks were amazing

Great hotel
Loved this hotel and its location away from the tourist traps. I also like the fact that they don’t have vendors walking on the beach trying to sell things that I don’t want. The location was beautiful and the room was clean. The have great breakfast options and a nice bar included in the room. The staff is great and very helpful. I also like the fact that they don’t sell excursions and that you are able to do it in your own.

Vacationed to Tulum to celebrate my sisters birthday and I am glad we chose to stay at Mereva hotel. Abraham at the front desk was very friendly and was always available whenever we had questions about where to visit. This property was everything the reviews said and more. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Luis, we immediately felt welcomed and at ease. The room was beautiful and clean. All of the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I had the best lobster I’ve ever had at the hotel restaurant. We also got an amazing couples massage. Highly recommend taking the paddle boards out and seeing the sunset. We saw stingrays and tons of fish by the reef which was straight out from the dock. This hotel was absolutely beautiful, relaxing and low-key and nothing but good vibes. Stay here, you won’t be disappointed!

My boyfriend and I went there on July 2022 Rooms — day 1 we got room with a beatiful view but we had several hiccups. - We didnt have hot water in the shower. We got to the front desk and it took about 1h to finally get warm water. - The fan was also making noise and was shaky. They came to repair it. - The air conditionning wasn’t strong enough for the room and its light was so bright that we could see in the room during the night because of it. - The TV needed a software update and we didn’t have the remote control to do it so we had to call front desk again. They came and updated the TV. Day 2 we had a problem with the safety box, the batteries were dead so we couldn’t open it. Took about an hour to repair it. They offer us a new room with a balcony on the beach and a plunge pool. This one was much better. I have to mention though that the beds are loose and the pillows are small and very hard. The shower heads are also full of limestone (green and dark grey spots). Beach — very nice view. Oudoor chairs were comfy. There is indeed a lot of seaweed and the sand is kind of big and hard compared to the sand in the other hotels that we went to in Tulum. Food — it was OK and a little expensive. The restaurant staff was great though. Location — you have to know that the property is approx. 30 minutes from dowtown Tulum (by car) and there is not much to do around this hotel. There is a cenote and a couple of other hotels but thats it.

All has been corrected and we will make sure this never happend again. The second day we offer you the upgrade because we knew the issues you had. We are pleased you liked the second room, the food in our restaurant and the kindess from our staff. About the seaweed unfortunately it is something we cannot control, but we have a team working everyday since 7 am to remove it. We are located in a private and peaceful area 15 minutes from Tulum downtown and 20 minutes from Tulum beach. We hope you give us a second chance to pamper you at Mereva style.

This property is the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing vacation. This is not the place to come party. It's not overly crowded, they have multiple pools, hammocks, a beautiful private pier with hammocks, beach front sun chairs on a private beach. It was a peaceful stay, they did have paddle boards and kayaking available free of charge to guests. Room service, pool side service, a cenote in front of the resort. Discount coupons for dinning at neighboring hotels, everything was delicious. Staff were very prompt in cleaning and room service and pool side drinks, grabbing you a taxi. Would definitely stay here again
