"Our Villa was not on the beach but it was spectacular. With a private pool and jacuzzi. It was family-friendly. Many activities for the kids. Bicycles were given to each family member. The beach area is amazing. It has a great restaurant and a nice pool. The restaurants at the hotel and at the other Mayakoba hotels are very good. The best part is the staff. They accommodate and coordinate everything you want. Our personal concierge Madai was GREAT! "

"We spent 7 nights here over Easter and really enjoyed our stay. The bedroom for 4 people was spacious and clean with a stocked mini bar. (We were 2 adults, 2 teens) The choice of restaurants is good, with a buffet restaurant , Italian - Porto Bella, Hacienda Grill, pizza, and Mexican choices, but our favourite was Kotori, the Asian option. It’s definitely worth booking for the Habatchi grill, Eduardo the chef was very entertaining and the portions were filling. Staff are very good about asking about food allergies. The coatis were a bit naughty and pinched some food from my beach bag! The guided Kayaking is free and worth doing but you have to prebook this on the same day but in advance via the concierge desk - so go early, it opens from 7am and there are 3 time slots available. Pool staff are friendly, Jose and Edgar took care of us and really helpful, as was Abel (Pedro) Pool towels are provided too. Buffet restaurant staff were all really good too particularly Hermania who cooked us fresh omelettes to order every day, and discovered she also had bacon on request too! Coffee and ice cream are readily available in the cafe, and the sports bar is good too but can get a little loud later in the evening. We booked a tour to Xcaret via Juan from Spark Travel who has a tour desk in the lobby. He was really knowledgeable and helpful too. So all in all, we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend it. "

"Disappointed with Grand Princess Riviera/Sunset. Our flight was canceled, causing us to arrive a day late. We got to the resort around 1 AM, had to carry our own luggage up two flights of stairs, and were told an extra night would cost 3 times as much. Staff acted like rooms weren’t available, even though the resort was empty and under construction. We were denied both a refund and the ability to shift our dates. Guests shouldn’t have to cover costs caused by circumstances beyond their control. Hoping for a fair resolution. "

"We went with a large friend group 19 of us in total. The resort was perfect for us, everyone enjoyed it (44-68). All the staff were amazing. The resort was very clean and well maintained. The daily room refresh always made our room very clean. Within our group we did three different excursions booked through Margarita. Our group thoroughly enjoyed them. Tulum+Cenotes, Catamaran, Reef Snorkeling. The activities team is amazing. There are low energy to high energy activities. Most of our group are early risers so activates ending by 11PM was perfect for us. We enjoyed the morning tai chi, yoga, stretching with Viri; volleyball games, aquafit, crazy games with Susana, Victor and Moises and all the evening shows. The lounge chairs under netting by the beach were our go to spot in the morning. We didn't find we need to secure any early and just used them while we were there. The only area that was very busy for chairs was around the pools. Every day we enjoyed the pizza (or Tacos on Tuesday) by El Charro, it was great as a snack. The Mexicano was a favourite amongst our group. The hidden gem for food for me was the sushi bar. This is part of the Japanese restaurant and cannot be booked in advance but is walk in. It was never very busy when I was there, I'm not sure if many realized you could just walk into it. If you enjoy Sushi I would recommend checking it out. We'd start each day with a mimosa during breakfast and try the drink of the day afterwards."
