The great beauty and diversity of the Devon countryside and coastline is what brings visitors from far and wide to this wonderful county. There are numerous accommodation options to choose from, and you'll easily find a B&B or hotel to suit your requirements when you visit places like Dartmoor or some of the lovely beaches in the region. Babbacombe Beach is one of the best, and has attractions nearby for all ages to enjoy.
Babbacombe Beach can be found just to the north of the bustling historic town of Torquay. Actually, there are two separate beaches below Babbacombe. Oddicombe Beach is a long stretch of fine red sand whilst nearby Babbacombe Beach is composed of small pebbles but is none the less popular for all that. There are many facilities close to the beaches, including public toilets and cafés, and when you spend a day here travelling from your B&B or guesthouse you'll have everything you need for a wonderful day out in the sun with the whole family.
One bit of good news is that dogs are allowed throughout the year on Babbacombe Beach, although they're banned from Oddicombe Beach during September. This means that if you're staying at a pet friendly hotel in Devon you can also bring your pooch along to the beach for a day out with the family. Visitors are able to park right alongside the beach and use a slipway to get on to it, and the Babbacombe cliff railway is wheelchair friendly and used also to access Oddicombe Beach. You can also get on to the nearby beach by using a long and rather steep path if you're feeling up to it.
There are plenty of facilities close to both beaches, including toilets at each locale and two cafés where you can pick up refreshments such as ice creams and soft drinks. The nearby model village in Babbacombe is a big local attraction. Pop along here from your Devon hotel or B&B for a fun day out and you'll find plenty of things to see and do.
