The hotel staff/my room and the quality of the food was first class
Great stay, very helpful staff and a great location.
After reading mixed reviews I came with an open mind. On arrival we didn’t have named parking (probably as we booked late), but were directed to a parking area by the pool & gardens. The lovely man that was in duty helped us with our bags to reception, and whilst checking in he took our bags to our ...
A very pleasant stay at the hotel, having read a few reviews about the hotel before hand, I found it to be more than adequate for a one night stay and could have happily stayed here for more than one night. Room was a very good size with two beds, one double and one single, the double was very comfortable. ...
The staff was very friendly. The place was clean, tidy with a very relaxing atmosphere. Especially the dining area..Highly recommended
Indoor pool good for rainy days. 2 indoor pools jacuzzi; steam roim and sauna. Outdoor pool good when weather nice Aztec games area good
Good food clean hotel good staff
The hotel suited my needs as low cost DB&B with some facilities. The building is old but kept to a reasonable standard. Our food package was mainly okay but some economies on the expensive ingredients were obvious (paella and cottage pie). Staff friendly, helpful and efficient.
The room offered was terrible. An alternative was given. The service by staff was very helpful.
Abbey Sands is an intrinsic part of the English Riviera, that stretch of exquisite coastline along the South Devon Coast between Brixham, Paignton and Torquay. It is a coastline of uncharacteristic palm trees and summers comparable to those of the Eastern Mediterranean, and many people come here from across the country for their holidays, staying at one of the many excellent Devon hotels, B&Bs or family-run guesthouses in the area.
As the name suggests, Abbey Beach can boast some of the most stunning golden sands in the whole of the United Kingdom. You may think that's hardly saying much in a county full of beaches, but actually Britain has many excellent blue flag beaches and you don't have to go all the way to Spain or Turkey for sun and sand when it's all here on your doorstep! Stay at a hotel or B&B in Torquay, Brixham or any of the towns and villages along the coastline and you'll have easy access to Abbey Beach in all its glory. Day visitors and locals alike pack the beach during the summer, but even off-season it's still also very popular.
Situated between Paignton and Torquay, and just to the west of Torquay Harbour, Abbey Sands is the main beach for the whole area and has a whole host of associated attractions to enjoy when you visit the region. These include Rock Walk, Princess Pier, Princess Gardens and the very popular Abbey Park and Meadows, just a short walk from the beach. You can also get from the beach to Torquay town centre to enjoy the shopping and nightlife, as well as restaurants that serve up delicious food sourced from the area.
Many of the bigger Devon hotels can also be found closer to the centre of town, although there is a good selection of smaller B&Bs and guesthouses to choose from, spread right across this part of South Devon. If you're looking for holiday ideas that incorporate sun and sand as well as great entertainment and a climate like Spain's, then look no further!
