Booked for a theatre trip (which was cancelled :() . Was dreading it to be honest, given the reviews and how cheap it was. Check in was fuss free and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is like a maze, it’s creaky corridors and dated decor reminded me somewhat of an old nursing home. It’s in need of renovation and modernisation as some parts are pretty shabby. The dining and lounge areas looked ok and reasonably well kept, although we didn’t actually eat or drink there due to our plans.
The room itself, a twin room, was very basic but contained all the essentials and was cleaned to a good standard. The beds were standard, not the best I’ve slept in but comfy enough for a good nights sleep.
Other users of the hotel were generally older people, a handful of couples with a few kids dotted around.
All in all, for the very cheap fee we paid, it was actually alright. If I’m ever looking for a cheap stay in the area, I would book again.
