"Great price for this location"
Great location for our stay. The staff were really helpful over all of our stay. The room we had was compact with a shower room, the beds were twin and really comfy and the room warm. We were on the front of the building so was noisy, but I'd read the reviews and wore ear plugs. The breakfast was a good choice for continental, but I had a full English and have had better, my daughter had pancakes (definitely not fresh) which for the price needs to be cooked to order. The only down fall was the price on breakfast, I asked if children were less, they said no we charge the same as adult, so wouldn't use breakfast service again.

"Central London Location "
The Rathbone Hotel sits close to the British Museum and the Goodge Street tube station. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom of a good standard. The HVAC system was extremely puzzling to use and often kept the room too warm. All in all, not perfect but a good value for the money and a fine location.

"Birthday break"
It was my sons 8th birthday over the weekend and Katarina excelled at making the stay magical for my little boy. He wanted to arrive at the hotel, eat cake and chocolate and watch Home Alone 2. We arrived at the hotel and the room had balloons in it, confetti, cake, little notes to say hope you have a lovely birthday and his favourite movie was ready to play. The bed was set up and had 2 little bears ready to be snuggled.

"Quiet, convenient Central London hotel."
Very pleasant comfortable hotel with excellent staff. My one disappointment related to our room which was not cheap. The bathroom was cool and the floor was freezing even tho the heated towel rail was very hot all the time. Robes were provided but no towelling slippers which that room needs. Also the hair dryer was a little travel dryer which are thankfully being phased out in good hotels and our room merited these facilities.

"What a gem right by Soho"
We loved this hotel from the moment we checked in. It's akin to staying in a B&B but with the privacy and amenities of a 4 star hotel. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is hearty. Our room was a spacious suite with comfortable beds, a large bathroom, bathrobes, in room hot pot for coffee and tea and great water pressure - a welcome change from the cramped quarters of our Paris hotel room. The area around the hotel is fantastic for exploring, especially Soho, with great restaurants. Also walking distance to the theaters. Very lively and fun. One side note, we asked the concierge on duty for a recommendation for dinner in the area, seeking out one of the local pubs with good food. My 17 year old daughter and I were seeking a gastro pub. He said he couldn't make a recommendation because he doesn't drink. We were not looking to drink either, and found it laughable that he didn't have a list of local options to recommend. Not a big deal as we found recommendations online, but also silly not to have a list of a few local reliable places.

Pocket Guide: London Bloomsbury 4 stars Hotels

The fashionable residential district of Bloomsbury in central London, dotted with hushed Georgian garden squares, has drawn famous writers and philosophers through the centuries. Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury Set redefined the 20th-century novel here, and being the seat of the British Library and the British Museum, it was also where Charles Darwin formulated his historic theory of evolution.
