My first impression was quite impressive with the clean and tidy grounds. Then I walked into the lobby and was greeted by a lovely staff member at your front desk (her name was Abeer--I think that's the right spelling). She was kind and helpful. I was a bit upset as I was supposed to meet up with my sister at Pearson and she flew into Billy Bishop airport! Abeer's warm and friendly greeting helped to put my fears to rest. Partially...I still had to drive down to Billy Bishop in rush hour traffic to find her.
My sister and I got back to the hotel about 3 1/2 hours later and were so relieved to settle in to a well maintained, clean room. After a good nights sleep it was great to get up and have a nice breakfast without having to leave the hotel. Our experience was positive for the week we stayed there. However when we checked out there was no staff available at the front desk. There was a sign saying that staff would return shortly. After waiting 10 minutes time restraints required me to leave a note indicating that we were not able to wait longer and that our bill had been paid in full prior to check in and the two room key cards along with our room number were left with the note. I was uncomfortable and unhappy about having to check out without making contact with a staff member.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay. There are so many positives but your staff is number one! All staff members (except one) acknowledged us and greeted us every time we passed their way.
