Its a smaller hotel; incredible location for shopping,
The staff make the hotel warm & inviting; all very helpful.
Very clean. The rooms are not huge, but the bathrooms are enormous- all marble & for
me even more important than the room. Great staff - most helpful I have met anywhere.
Top score hotel for me. This will be my London hotel in future.
Great Hotel. Perfect location for tour bus, underground, shopping, food, hyde park. Staff very pleasant, concierge very helpful for tour booking and details. Surprised to find out that some food was included! Unlimited drinks, basic meals and snacks. Kids swam in pool at night. Very clean hotel. KING SIZE bed (hard to find in England).
My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Bloomsbury Hotel at the end of a 3 week trip in Spain. The staff were extremely attentive, helpful and friendly. The location is great as it is a short walk to a wide variety of restaurants in nearby Percy and Charlotte Streets and to the Theatre district. There are also 2 underground stations vey close to the hotel and supermarkets. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. For a Central London hotel of good quality it is reasonably priced and I would definitely recommend it.
I arrived into London early and went straight from Heathrow to the Sanderson only expecting to drop of my bags and walk around London in a jet lagged haze till the expected check in time of 3pm. To my surprise Jon at the front desk checked me into my room on my arrival and couldn't have been nicer about it. I used little of the hotel hotel facilities except to use it as a base on my visit to London. My room was alway impeccably clean and filled with lovely high grade toiletries. The room was more than adequate in size for my needs and was filled with the latest technology. The Sanderson wifi was terrifically fast and kept me in contact with family and friends. Upon checking out very early there was no delay and infact Karl the front the receptionist on duty sent me a very nice SMS confirming my payment status. I could not have felt more welcome or at home at the Sanderson and would recommend this hotel to everyone I know wanting to stay in The London SoHo area.
Whilst I realise that this is a budget hotel, it does purport to be 3*. The only thing it really has going for it is location.
I have never stayed in an hotel before that does not offer tea and coffee making facilities. Expedia quotes that the cost for breakfast and Wi-Fi are each £9.99, when in fact breakfast is £11.99 and 24 hours of Wi-Fi is £12.99 - extortionate in this day and age.
My room was reasonably clean but very dated. The only window treatments were wooden blinds, which did not fit the windows correctly and did not reach the bottom of the windows. A problem when you're only on the first floor as it means people at street level can see in. The beds were rock hard. The pillows were wafer thin and the bedding consisted of a sheet, a tatty blanket and a counterpane. I slept very little.
The bathroom was very small, but functional. There was an empty shampoo bottle left on the floor. Water pressure was good.
At about 7.00am the fire alarms on my floor went off twice. I rang reception and was told this was because "someone had tried to take a shower". Fortunately, I had already had mine, so got dressed and left this wretched place for a Starbucks where I could get coffee, breakfast and free Wi-Fi.
