Zweckmäßig in zentraler Lage…

Wir waren im März zu dritt in der Wohnung in Vauxhall. Als positiv bewerten wir die Kontaktaufnahme des Vermieters, die gute Wegbeschreibung und Schlüsselübergabe und die Lage. Die Wohnung liegt verkehrsgünstig. Direkt vor der Haustür liegt die Bushaltestelle zu U-bahnstation Vauxhall (3 Stationen), von dort sind es nur 2 Stationen bis Victoria. Ein kleinerer Tescomarkt ist direkt nebenan, ein kleiner, leckerer Fish and Chips-Laden ein kurzes Stück die Straße runter. Das portugiesische Restaurant gegenüber dagegen hat uns sehr enttäuscht. Die Wohnung ist geräumig, sauber und ruhig. In jedem Zimmer befindet sich eine Elektroheizung, welche leider im Bad nicht funktionierte, so dass es dort schon sehr kühl war. Das Schlafzimmer verfügt über ein französisches Bett (1,40x2,00m) mit nur einer großen Bettdecke. Es gibt einen kleineren Einbauschrank, jedoch keine Nachtische oder Regale. Im Wohnzimmer mit Küchenecke gab es ein 1,40x2,00m großes Airbed. Die Liegefläche war jedoch so kalt, dass wir nach der ersten Nacht im Supermarkt eine Decke zum Drunterlegen kaufen mussten. Die Küche ist modern ausgestattet. Alle Küchengeräte funktionierten, nur gab es äußerst wenig Geschirr, so dass wir täglich die Spülmaschine anstellen mussten. Im Bad gibt es eine Badewanne mit Duschgelegenheit. Leider war das Wasser entweder sehr heiß oder sehr kalt, dazwischen war nichts einzustellen. Wir haben uns dann in der Küche die Haare waschen müssen. Auch der versprochene Fön war nicht vorhanden, wurde dann aber von uns gekauft und der Preis vom Vermieter zurückerstattet. Pros: Very comfortable and updated room; very clean (except vacuuming on carpets needs better attention), but bathroom and linens were immaculate; very nice exercise room; 2 restaurants on property and room service available as well as a small unaffiliated grocery next door; lots of nice touches - for example: greeted us upon arrival with an offer of apple or cranberry juice, in room there is a scale, an umbrella, and lovely robes with slippers; location is quiet - away from touristy attractions but very easy to walk to everything- right between Vauxhall and Lambeth bridges. Considerations: Despite centralized location, not much is very close - need to walk a lot or take transportation (taxi, bus, or walk to tube) - it is several blocks walk to restaurants that are not in the hotel or the hotel next door - this presented an issue for one of the travelers in my group who was not able to walk as easily.
