"Nice Location....Traveler Beware!!!"
My main purpose for writing this review is to inform other travelers about what they can expect when they stay here. The location is awesome. The room size itself was small and maybe what one might expect in downtown San Francisco. In case you didn't read the other reviews there is no air conditioning in the building at all. This didn't bother me because it was below 60 at night during my stay and I knew it going into my trip. It seemed clean but everything felt very old. The bed slept ok. The lights and plugs stopped working about 1/2 way through my stay. I think my iPhone charger may have shorted a circuit. I informed hotel staff when I checked out and they acted like they knew about the issue and that it was no big deal. They said "It was an easy fix that I could have taken care of". Their justification was "it's an old building". So to summarize my review...Its a very very basic old hotel in the heart of everything in downtown San Francisco with no AC and very limited customer service.

"Downtown"
Hotel lobby clean and easy check in. Room was clean but VERY SMALL!! Very tight fit for 2 people with queen bed. Hardly any room to move around. Shared hall toilet and shower were always clean and free. Our window faced an alley that was VERY noisy at night but they supply earplugs. The price was great! The bottom line its a great central place, clean room and you are only sleeping there.

"No Extras, But It's Quaint"
The bathroom was clean, the room was clean, and towels and soaps are provided. The WiFi was strong. No coffee or continental breakfast but Jack-in-the-Box is right next door. Staff is friendly and the building is old and beautiful. Our room was over the alley where glass bottles were sorted for trash at all hours. Parking is difficult in this area. I would stay at the Union Plaza again.

"Good option. Great location!!!!"
It was a cute hotel. Very clean and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. It was a little odd that there was no central a/c but the fan and cracking open the window kept us cool at night. Room was very small with very comfortable bed, even though it was also small. Most important part for me was that it was clean and cute. Also, you can't beat the location!!!!! Right in the heart of downtown steps away from awesome reataurants and great shopping. I would stay there again.
