"Shower did not work no stable warm water so can hardly took a bath. Breakfast was great"

"The apartment was a good enough size for a ski apartment and the bathroom was quite big. The apartment is fairly basic and dated but sleeps three comfortably - not five. The double bed and one of the sofa beds were comfortable - the other sofa bed was sofa cushions laid out on the floor and the camp bed was quite old ( and part of it was broken) so didn’t lie flat so neither is comfortable. The shower isn’t usable as a shower as there is no curtain and it’s very low down so you have to sit in the tub to use it and no plug was provided. There was plenty of hot water. The building is well located to get on the slopes (we eventually worked out how to ski across from the back door) and there are a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance. You can ski direct back to the apartment on lovely slopes if you’re confident on red runs. It would be helpful to provide a book with all the necessary information for the apartment in it as we had to try to work out a lot of things ourselves - like how to turn the electricity, water, fridge and Wi-Fi on - and I’d rather not have to keep contacting the owner to ask. We felt like we had borrowed a friend’s apartment rather than paid for it. The Wi-Fi didn’t work because there was no credit on the card for it and we didn’t want to have to go into town and pay ourselves to top it up. The parking spot was a definite plus as it seemed people without one struggled to park. The view of The Matterhorn was beautiful. "

"Comparable to any 5 star resort on this planet in terms of service and cleanliness. The staff was AMAZING. First free drinks, then a tour of the facility. This hotel should teach a master class on service and staff loyalty. Every employee is friendly and eager to serve. I can't recommend Hotel Matthiol enough. I wish they had locations in every city because I'd book them exclusively from here on."

"Great hotel! I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom, we even had a balcony. Feels like staying at your grandparents cabin on Christmas… also very central and close to everything!"

"Where to begin!? Schwarzsee Hotel is amazing for skiers who travel across the continents with the mentality to enjoy the outdoors. This hotel is very convenient as it is a ski-in-and-out hotel. With the most amazing views of the Matterhorn and part of the Swiss Alps just out your window. The gondola is one minute walk and to embark further up in the mountains and all the way to Cervinia ski resort which lands in Italy!! The staff at the hotel are polite and helpful, the food is beyond delicious. Enjoyed every meal for 4 consecutive days. Your stay includes breakfast and dinner. The dormitories are a bit stretchy and the mattresses hard spring coils. But if you are here to ski the alps, this is just a minor thing that you can overlook. I would definitely comeback!! "
