Great hotel for a weekend break. Modern hotel. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Excellent free wifi and super breakfast. Very well situated for Hamburg centre shopping and walking in the nearby parks or by the water. U bahn and S bahn nearby for easy access across the city and to the airport.
Enjoyed our stay. Comfy, quirky rooms, really nice vibe to the whole place. Good location - 15 minute walk from the Alster and Rathaus, and right by the Überseequartier underground station. Didn't eat in the restaurant, but the atmosphere was good. Only annoyances were lack of coffee facilities in room and expensive per-person rates for breakfast. There's apparently a 'grab and go' option during the week - why not at the weekend too? Anyway - that's easily swerved by heading round the corner to the excellent Lieblingsplatz bakery / coffee shop (highly recommended).
The General Information Desk person-in charge, aside from being very fluent in English, was very helpful and accommodating. Our luggage was delayed, and the General Information Personnel assisted us by contacting the airport for them to locate and rush its delivery.
We also received excellent service from their restaurants, especially from their employee, Annie Steffen.
Ours was only a brief overnight stay but we chose this hotel due to its proximity to the main train station. Even though our room faced the street, it was quiet and very comfortable. Wide choice for breakfast - can't fault anything and would recommend for a stay in Hamburg.
We stayed three nights and we managed to visit friends and interesting places with ease.
The staff were keen to please gave us good advice.
When we returned at the end of the day the room was immaculate.
We enjoyed the comfort of the lobby bar.
The breakfast looked wonderful but is was a bit too extensive (and expensive )for us but just across the road
was "Dat bakhus" a wonderful bakery and cafe where we did have breakfast.
Very close to everything in Hamburg City Center. Smaller than most Renaissance Hotels and rooms much smaller but not uncomfortable, perhaps the bathrooms could use a shower cubicle and take out the bath. Guest Lifts a bit old and very slow . Food good though and a nice lobby bar.
Set on the inner Alster Lake, Hamburg's centre is 1 km from the harbour and the developing warehouse district, HafenCity. Shopping is centred on Mönckebergstrasse and Neuer Wall. Towers dominate, including the huge city hall and the churches of St Peter, St Jacob, St Nikolai and St Michael. Art exhibitions can be found at the Kunsthalle, the Bucerius Forum and the Deichtorhallen.
