"Like to Come back with family "
The welcome at reception was professional and friendly which puts one at ease immediately. We had the fortune to be upgraded to a sea front terrace room which was excellent both in size and comfort. Being on half board our first experience of the restaurant was dinner on the first evening, which was again excellent both in quality of food and friendly professional service from the staff.

"Lovely hotel, close to beach and town"
Great hotel in quiet location. Ideal for both beach and town centre and very close to bus stop too. Staff were welcoming and very friendly and helpful at all times. If you stay here, take cash with you as we were charged 5% to cover their bank charges which we felt was a bit steep. However, room was spacious and spotlessly clean, as was ensuite. We felt that for a family room, the ensuite door had far too much clear glass in it, but we solved this by hanging a huge bath sheet over the door so that our 9 year old daughter couldn't see anything she shouldn't be seeing at her age. The mattress on bed was very soft, which didn't suit us, but that's just personal choice and would be fine for some people. For breakfast you can buy £3.50 vouchers to use in a pub just 30 yds up the road and the full English here was excellent. Even on a rainy day we were hardly wet when we reached the pub. Good to get there early, though as it gets very busy. Overall an excellent hotel in an ideal location for beach (and cliff lift down to beach) and shopping.

"Busy but quiet in the room"
Nice room and great facilities. Only issue was the room was too warm even with the radiator turned off. Woken up at 5.30am too by the radiator making an horrendous loud noise.

"I'm local so the hotel is in an ideal position."
Definitely recommend staying here to anyone - plenty of nibbles in the room and bottled water etc. Good supply of toiletries. The fact that no food is available does not matter sine the location is a two minute walk to a high street full of eating venues.

"Good Hotel, but NO WIFI in the Rooms"
The hotel was clean and obviously upgraded, and the staff was very nice, but there is no wifi in the rooms. This is 2016, and if the hotel has hot water, it needs to have wifi in the rooms. Period.

Pocket Guide: Dorset Brownsea Island Hotels

Home to the Tudor Brownsea Castle, Brownsea Island is just a short ferry-trip from Poole, deep in the heart of beautiful Dorset. The island itself is now protected by the National Trust and has been restored to its former glory. However, that restoration has been tastefully undertaken, leaving vast portions of the island to grow naturally and it acts as a haven for the threatened Red Squirrel. Although there are no hotels on the island, Poole is just across the water and offers everything from boutique B&Bs to upmarket luxury hotels.

    Hotels near Brownsea Island

Brownsea Island is ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in natural beauty. While it has a strong appeal for wildlife-lovers, there's plenty for families to get involved with. The Natural Play area is a healthy alternative to gaming gadgets, offering kids the chance to get on with some old-school fun such as building dens or trying their luck at the pine-cone shy. If there are any budding trackers in your party, there are a number of trails to follow, such as the pirate trail - in which young trackers can find treasure and learn about the pirates and smugglers that used to haunt the area.

Poole is the nearest source of accommodation, offering hotels in a range of shapes and sizes. For couples who want to enjoy some quality downtime together, there are exclusive B&Bs such as the Merchant House B&B, and even upmarket hotels such as the Haven Hotel, which offers an affordable slice of the high-life. However, you'll also find some superb, mid-range hotels which are ideal for those with children. Family-friendly hotels, such as the Thistle Poole Hotel and the Holiday Inn Express Hotel Poole, offer comfortable rooms and all the little extras you could need to make your stay a pleasant one.

    Beyond Brownsea Island

There are no shops on Brownsea Island, but Poole boasts an eclectic selection, from independent stores to high-end and designer outlets. The Dolphin Shopping Centre is a sizeable mall, with numerous shops and a range of restaurants to refuel tired shoppers.

Brownsea Island is a beautiful attraction to explore. Well-served by nearby accommodation, a visit will leave you relaxed and restored.
