I've stayed here several times in the past but generally taken one of the bigger rooms when on offer which are good. I stayed in room 2 during this stay and it's fair to say it is need of a refurbishment. The wardrobes were dusty and had a foisty smell. The mattresses either had blood or coffee stains, the bed was falling to bits down one side with huge tears. The lighting was very poor - however not that it mattered much as the bright street lights outside were enough to light the room up, even with curtains closed as they seemed to be paper thin letting lots of light through, I didn't get much sleep due to this.
One of my biggest gripes is breakfast - I paid before hand via Hotels.com for breakfast but was charged upon leaving for breakfast. This isn't the first time this has happened . There has been at least 2-3 other times where they have tried to charge me extra for breakfast when I've already paid when booking, I then have to delve through email to find the booking receipt to prove this, unfortunately I was in a rush and did not have time to do this and I also thought that possibly I hadn't booked breakfast at the time of booking as it has been a long day. Up on returning home I checked and could see I had booked and paid for breakfast already. Be warned if you stay here, take one of the bigger rooms & have your booking confirmation at hand when checking out to argue against the breakfast charges. I won't be staying again and I visit the area every month
