I was a little concerned about not being able to walk out of the hotel to grab excellent food, but that couldn’t be farther from the case. We were able to walk less than 10 min to a highly regarded shabu shabu restaurant and a famous ramen spot, not to mention all the fantastic food in the train/subway station! The hotel staff...

"Really excellent hotel, blending traditional and modern. The room was very large and comfortable, and the staff were so helpful with recommendations and bookings around Kyoto. The only downside was the location, which is around 25 minutes walk to the centre of Kyoto."

"The hotel was beautiful, the amenities - especially the private baths - were great. Staff were friendly and the location was very handy to get around from. The only thing that was a bit of an issue was the key system: you're only given one set of keys and you must always exchange your key with access to your shoes or vice versa, so just stepping out for some air was such a chore, especially when the front desk is packed with people checking in or just wanting to get their shoes. "

"Rooms are clean, functional with modern furnishing. It is not very spacious (22 & 26 sq m) especially the triple sharing but this is expected. We like chilling at the lobby lounge with a cup of cuppa or hot cocoa before heading out in the morning. The airport bus limousine is just opposite the hotel, which is a lot more pleasant to ride on vs lugging the luggages to the train station especially this is Golden Week!"

"Great location with easy access to fascinating historical sites via nearby subway. A short walk to Nishiki Market. Attentive reception, lounge and dining room staff. Well appointed room with excellent bathtub. The only negatives were the lack of bedside tables and the motion sensor light in the toilet room which was a bit harsh for those midnight jaunts to the loo. "

"Kyoto is a big city, so lot of walking if not by the station. the bus was very useful. maybe if there was a rental bicycle at hotel I would definately use it. hotel was fine and will use it again. "

"The staff was wonderful. At first i was hesitant for an upgraded room by front desk but took it and the view was stunning and did not disappoint of the Eastern part of town as well the Kamo River. The subway station is directly under the hotel so if you need to catch a subway train or need to get off at a station near you, it will be conveniently under your hotel which also doubles as a shopping mall and connects to the shops underground in the subway station.
