The best location! All the hotel staff was very professional and helpful. The hotel shop showcases nice selections of Kyoto souvenir. The room I stayed was spacious and clean. The bathroom was great for Japanese style bathing. The only drawback was the noise level --some kind of mechanic\door closing sounds. Over all, the hotel is one of the bests for real people who love to visit Kyoto repeatedly.

My daughter and I stayed here for just two nights. Excellent location, just minutes away from the metro, shopping, and surrounded by good restaurants. We had a spacious room on the eighth floor, two double beds. The room was immaculate and had all the travel amenities you needed.
This hotel is about 20 min walk from Kyoto station. There are numerous udon restaurants close by, and few bike rental places. The room was extraordinary big for Japan. Supermarket and subway/bus station close by.

the only negative was the staff wasn't as friendly as at the other hotels we stayed at in Japan. with the exception of the cleaners who said hello every morning with a smile.

This room was small. Yes, I read other reviews which all commented on the small room size but I was still a little surprised. We booked a King Room and were given Room 606 which was a corner room. Despite the fact that the room overlooked the main street, it was quiet. The room was very clean and modernly furnished. However, did I mention that the room was small. The bed took up most of the space in the room. It was pushed up against the wall on one side, leaving only a narrow walking path along the other side by the window. There was a small desk area and a small fridge. The entrance to the bathroom was a little odd with a step up of 6-8 inches. Overall, the room was comfortable and a good value.
We arrived at Kyoto Station and took Bus Route # 205 and after 7 stops arrived at the hotel. In other reviews, people commented that the hotel was difficult to find because the entrance is off the side street but we had no problem. As soon as we got off the bus, we looked for the 7-11 and saw a sign with an arrow pointing in the direction of the hotel entrance. The check in process was easy. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel had an ice machine and two washer/dryer units that were available for guest use FREE! Guests were only required to provide their own laundry detergent. There is no restaurant at the hotel but there are plenty of good places within walking distance.
