A wonderful hotel with lovely helpful staff. The reception staff speak good English. The rooms are great. We've stayed twice now on the 8th Floor (803 this time) and the rooms are massive. No view in 803 but the hotel was having work done so no views anyway. Lovely bar on 9th floor and Bernardo is brilliant. Snacks given with all drinks. Great breakfast buffet. Rooms modern and clean with minibar, iron and board, hairdryer, music, TV. Bathrooms very nice. I will definitely be staying here again next time.
"Great location, bargain rate for level of service"
This hotel in right on a key section of the Grand Via with excellent views from many rooms. It is modern and well-maintained and the staff is very friendly and full of information about everything. The rates, as for all hotels in Madrid right now, are very attractive. It would have been even better in the summer when the rooftop bar and lounge area is open. In spite of the hotel being in a very busy area of town, the rooms were very quiet when you closed the windows.
Roof top views were excellent but weather was a bit wet.Would have been nice to have drinks on the roof top even out of season but with the rain we never found out if the was possible. Will have to revisit when the weather may be drier.
Initially went to the wrong hotel as the company has several hotels in Gran Via. This is not the one by Gran Via metro. It is close to Plaza de Espana metro. After finding the correct, location, we were very happy with hotel.

In the Center of Spain*s bustling Capital City of Madrid is the 4-Star Senator Espana Spa Hotel. It is situated in Gran Via …More
I did not get to stay at the hotel because when we arrived they were having problems that needed to be repaired. They very graciously took us to a nearby hotel where we had equal (or better) accommodations. We were grateful since we were so tired after the long flight.
I only stayed here for one night, but the hotel staff were amazingly friendly and helpful! They knew who I was when I walked in, gave us recommendations of places to visit, and helped us get cabs to the airport the next day. I was also very impressed with how clean the room was, especially the bathroom. It seemed like a great location, and was very comfortable.
This was my second stay at Hotel TRYP Menfis in Madrid. The hotel entrance is on the busy Gran Via, which means it is a close walk to many areas of interest. The breakfast buffet option is worth the money and includes a variety of hot and cold options, coffee, juices, and breads.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. My room this time was on the inside of hotel, which meant my view was of other windows belonging to other rooms. What the room lacked in terms of a view it more than made up for with a very quiet night. Gran Via is a busy street like I said, so this room was actually preferable for me.
If there is any negatives to report, it's that the hotel entrance is not the easiest to use when arriving with a lot of luggage. While there is a wheelchair lift for those who need it, the front entrance is steps only, which means you need to physically lift your cases up 6-8 steps rather than rolling them on wheels. Also, the bathrooms tend to be on the small side. While neither of these issues would prevent me from recommending TRYP Menfis, if access and/or large bathrooms are important to you you may want to consider another hotel.
In summary, I really like this hotel and would choose to stay there again the next time my travels take me to Madrid.
