The Ahweanee in Foresta, Yosemite National Park

Historic cabin in Yosemite National Park with hot tub
We call our cabin, The Ahweanee,' because we designed it in the motif of the grand Ahwahnee Hotel, but at only 1,250 square feet of house and another 1,250 square feet of deck, it is so much smaller. Master bedroom has a queen be; 2nd bedroom is a den and has a queen bed and a queen futon and the great room has a queen hide-a-abed. There is also a sofa bed in the great room with an extra mattress for the sofa bed in the master closet. Keywords: two bedrooms, full kitchen, two baths, laundry, large deck, hot tub, Yosemite Valley views, cozy, close to Yosemite Valley, sleeps up to eight, house, clean, BBQ
Air-conditioned accommodation at this cabin offers DVD players and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to patios. This accommodation offers separate living rooms and includes sofa beds. Kitchens offer fridges, hobs, microwaves and separate dining areas. Bathrooms include a combined bath/shower unit and hairdryers.
Recreational amenities at the cabin include a spa tub.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or nearby; fees may apply.

Location, Location, Location
Had no idea we could stay so close to the valley in a lovely home. A great getaway for the family.

Amazing Location and Perfect Cozy Cabin
What a lovely stay, so close to Yosemite Valley and incredibly comfortable and cozy. It's 30 min max to the valley and the views on the drive in to go hiking everyday were such a highlight, can't be beat. The wood burning stove for heat was my favorite part. Kitchen is fully stocked, everything you could need. Loved all the board games and puzzles and interesting books in the house, we only turned the TV on once to watch a movie, it's that facilitating for a quiet, decompressing experience (great wifi though if you need to check in) Perfect for a much needed getaway this fall, can't wait to go back! Thank you!

Amazing location in a warm home
We loved staying at this property with the ease and convenience of getting around in Yosemite and the luxury of having a warm home to come back to. This place feels very private and has great communal spaces for dinners together and lounging around.

Perfect Yosemite getaway
We spent four wonderful nights in this charming, inviting house. The decor is indeed “Yosemite mountain”, with some interesting Native American wall art and area rugs. Everything was very clean, all sanitized in this pandemic era. The kitchen was well stocked with most everything needed to prepare meals. There were abundant cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer throughout the house. We bbq’d every evening, sat and ate all our meals on the expansive deck overlooking tree covered hills and mountain vistas. In fact, walking a couple hundred yards up the road from this house you can see Yosemite Valley with El Capitan and Half Dome in the distance. As reviewers mention, the drive to Yosemite Valley is only about 15 minutes. This time of year the surrounding neighborhood was very quiet. From the deck we were regularly visited by squirrels, birds, deer, and twice by a passing coyote around dusk. At night we were serenaded by a couple of owls. Alex, our host and home owner was extremely easy to work with. Because of nearby fires, the smoke and air quality was so poor that Yosemite NP had to close for a number of weeks, opening only the day before our arrival. Alex was prepared to be flexible with our plans as Yosemite readied to re-open. Alex was very prompt in every correspondence we had and was always available for any questions if needed. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already pondering our plans to return in the Spring, ‘21. This is a wonderful property and we highly recommend!

We’ll be back
This was a very comfortable, nice home to stay in. It has a personal touch that I appreciate when I stay in a vrbo. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The large deck and window wall that completely opened was a super bonus. All the directions from the owner were clear and detailed. He was also easy to get a hold of directly. We will be back for sure.
